We lost Stalorihan. I was breathless so I soar down and collapsed down to the side, able to relax a little.
Sapher looked at me worried and careful.
"We mustn't rest." She said looking around cautiously. I sighed. She was right.
"Let's go look for someone who needs help," I suggested holding the staff. Sapher nodded. We walked forward, to nothing.
I couldn't help feeling warmth, unaware if it was from Dom of Sapher's friendly- Ness. If that's a word.
I shivered, seeing the dark hall, which I had freed some of the wolves that were enslaved for their sexual preferences, that they loved a human, or of their parents. It made me sad that I was supposed to be one of them, with Mom and Dom. Mom was saved by Fred. She'll never forget that, she said. I remember her telling me that story over and over again. Dom would say that Mom's decision was a surprise for her, Asena greeted her with no doubt."Of course not!" Mom had said, "She has already met you! She already knew for some reason!"
Dom had chuckled and said, "I told her about me before that day."
Mom had looked at her startled, "What? Really?" Dom shrugged. I laughed, cause Mom made a face to Dom.Remembering that hurt my heart.
Please let us be together once more. I prayed at Loyalheart, the first wolf Hybrid.
"Wait." Sapher growled putting a paw in front of me. I stopped.
"What?" I said following her gaze towards the dark hall. I sniffed, then got the strong stench of blood. But the aroma of the blue wolf I loved with all my heart.Cause she was my mother.
"Mom!" I cried, instinctively wanting to jump forwards her. I remembered the long scratch mom had made on my face. Sapher almost cried too. Mom and Fred emerged from the darkness.
"How does this work?" I said shaking the staff. I couldn't because mom attacked me. Sapher yelped trying to get Mom off me, but Fred jumped towards her.
I dodged a paw aiming to my chest. I used my good leg and kicked Mom's soft belly, I was sorry because it was scratched, bruised, and swollen. She yelped, bitting her lip. She roared and seized my neck to the ground. Through the red eyes, I saw Mom's real eyes. Looking around helplessly and painfully. She hissed and turned around. Sapher had bitten her tail. Mom growled and attacked her with a powerful paw. Fred was rolling up, ready to attack. I jumped on Mom, and regretfully bit down her ear harshly.
"Oof!" Sapher yelped as Fred's claws lightly scratched her cheek and her chest.
"No!" I yelped and Mom flung me off her. I crashed against the wall, my scratches beginning to bleed again. I wondered if they'll ever heal. Mom flung me again, and tackled me. I found it unsettling that it reminded me a lot when I was a little kid. Mom's warmth surrounding me, her soft wolf aroma flooding my nose.
"Lunamon... The staff..." Sapher choked. I looked, to see the staff in the other side of the hall. I leaped from Mom's paws. Then skipped past Fred and Sapher. Mom growled, chasing after me. I was barely able to reach the staff, when Mom bit down my tail. It was painful.I quickly spung around and hit her with her staff.
Mom yelped, her eyes wide. She collapsed on the tile floor. I gasped, collapsing as well...I slowly opened my eyes. I panicked, I was falling down, down to a endless pit of blue fire.
This must be Mom's soul. I thought instinctively. I spread my wings, but catched no wind. Everything was pitch black, except from the blue fire, which cause no light.I felt hopeless.
Finally I somehow reached the fire. I yelped, it wasn't surprising it can actually burn me. But the burning also brought the sweetness of Mom.
"Mom!" I yelled. My voice had no echo.
"L-Lunamon?" A soft voice responded. I jumped to my feet. My fur burned, but I didn't care.
Standing in this place made me understand Mom's suffering, happiness, and love. I understood her love for Dom even more than I thought I did. I saw her struggles, her fears, her ways of interpreting everything.
Mom was pure.
"Mom!" I called again, my heart almost bursting from my chest.
"Lunamon!" She yelled back. I ran towards the voice, blue fire burning my paws. I morphed again, at the sight of Mom. She stood there, her eyes brightened here. The blue fire wasn't a bother to her. I ran towards her, hugging her with all my might. Tears rolled down my face.
"Mom! It's really you!" I cried happily. Mom cried as well, smiling. I looked at her, "I missed you."I found myself getting up from the floor. Sapher was lying on the ground, Fred growled furiously.
"Fred..." Mom said sadly, looking at his insane red eyes. She winced at the pain from her belly.
I quickly tapped Fred with the staff, expecting to go into his fire.
But I didn't. Fred fainted for a while. Sapher got up, she was bleeding from a small cut on her throat.
"Father?" She started slowly. Fred opened his eyes. They weren't red anymore.
"Sapher." He said smiling. Sapher bursted into tears, just like I did with Mom.
"Come here." Fred said with open arms to her daughter. Sapher wasn't hesitant.
I relaxed to Mom's fur on mine.
"I'm guessing you finally found your wolf form." Mom said proudly licking like face. I buried my face on her chest, never wanted to leave ever again.
I got the staff and smashed it down the floor. A powerful wind rised. Nearly blowing me away, but Mom helping me down.
There were a few goans from many victims.
"Aaahhoooooooo!" Someone howled. It was followed with many more howls.
I looked to see Sapher and Fred joining the howling. I looked up at Mom, who winked and howled along.
I smiled, taking a deep breath and mimicked her howl.Everyone was free.
