Her lips were red
Because her hot tongue lashed out fire beneath them, charring them with anger and confidence.

Her eyes were red
Because the salt water concoction flooded her eye sockets perennially like a river in the east.

Her cheeks were red
Because of the blood rushing to the surface of her baby like skin. The cold winter and the words of a beautiful boy beckoning it forth.

Her hair was red
Like a phoenix rising from the surface of the sun to prevail its large wings and demand attention for its beauty and rarity.

Her personality was like red.
Her temper quick to come and hard to leave like the rise and fall of a midsummer's temperature. Not wanted but amidst us anyways.

I never liked the colour red.
