Sometimes I wish that I could open my eyes and see nothing.
Nothing to gain,
Nothing to lose,
Nothing to remember,
Nothing to forget,
Nothing to love,
Nothing to miss,
Nothing to create,
Nothing to screw up.
All the time I open my eyes and see something,
A ray of light,
Easily covered,
Delicate, blooming love,
Harsh shrivelling despair,
The hopeful voices of hello,
The inevitable goodbyes,
The twinkle of prince charming’s eyes,
The cruel deceit that lies beneath.
Easy to obscure,
Easy to ignore,
But they’re always there,
Ready to bring you up,
And can ultimately bring you crashing down.
