CHAPTER FIVE

I entered my room to do the daily routine, I came out from the bathroom to dress up. I wore my undergarments then I went to the closet to pick a dress ,seeing it fits perfectly I sprayed a nice cologne on. See I'm just a simple lady guys.... I don't go on doing makeup when I could actually use that time to achieve a task .

After giving myself a once over I checked for my stuff..

Yes!everything is set I'm ready to go to work. I got to the living room ,I left a message on the refrigerator and head out.

I don't want to take my car today at all and it's not like I usually ride in it....I keep a low  profile so it's not advice able to use a fancy car, I hailed a taxi told him my destination and sat at the back. I leaned my head closer to the window to look as if I'm looking out the window but I'm not , I'm not present at the moment I'm lost in my ocean of thoughts .

I know I said I won't be sad but mehn!! I am sad, deeply wounded on the  inside but I put on a brave face..... I wish things were different but it can't be. Seeing as it is, I think more problems is going to served as my daily meal ah ah ah....funny. I'm not so boring if you know me more, I'm into things no one would think I'm capable of.

"Scrrrrrreeeehh" was the sound that jolted me to reality. I was breathless since the sudden stop of the car jerked me forward making me hit my head head on the window harder.. The driver was shocked too cause there was no explanation to what just happened but I had to ask.

"Uh....excuse me Sir, what just happened?"trying not to sound rude to an elderly man.
"I'm sorry my child I don't know either but I think it was the vehicle coming from the opposite direction" he answered looking through the rear view mirror.
"Well Sir, we could have been killed today...we could have been killed!!" I'm not exaggerating but we could have been killed.

"Oh my child I'm so sorry I would be more careful now, I'm sorry" I could feel that he was truly sorry and he sounded like my dad so I let it go... There's no use arguing because there won't be an argument if we were dead, I just nodded my head in agreement as he was driving.  In not less than fifteen minutes, we got to my destination and I paid him off giving him extra tip too... I felt bad for earlier so I gave him my card and told him to visit the address later waving him goodbye

I got inside the building, greeted Mr Miles the security guard and took the elevator to the conference room. I got in just in time for Ms Stones side comment " just look at the garbage the dirt collector forgot to take along", that comment was enough for me to hit her hard across the face cuz she's the garbage in the room might  I add that She's  assistant manager but Mr Raphael the manager beat me to it.
"That's enough Sarah, let the lad be" he said with a curt smile on his face while defending me making me smile too.

The meeting started few minutes later with the manager saying the new president will visit the hotel and they would be using the multipurpose hall for conference, dinner meeting and they would spend sometime too. Its a good news to me and I don't see the problem there until........

"Ms Nicole, you're in charge of the gold suite , Kish you'll be in charge of the premium suite and ms Anna, you'll be in charge of the presidential suite too as you know that would be were the president and his family would be staying" now that got my attention.  Some glared at me with the evils others smiled appreciating my worthless fortune,  I can't think straight at all..... He said what?!

"Sir I don't think I can handle that suit, it should be given to some one else " I finished swallowing the lump that had already formed in my throat.
"You see Anna, I know you will be fine because you're stronger then you know and you will be fine..... I also have good news, they would be arriving on Saturday evening which is a day after tomorrow so we would be welcoming them with a grand dinner everyone should be available and Anna, there is an open opportunity for you to apply for the manager's position ..you are all dismissed."

Mr Raphael left me gobsmacked and dumbfounded I just kept closing and opening my mouth like a fish... I can't believe this, grand arrival, a position as the manager means I will have to quit my other job and more responsibilities. OMG! I'm too young for this , I snapped out of my thought once again with ms Stones tapping the table dramatically.
" that should have being  my position you social climber, did you sleep your way to this too?"  She asked pointing her neatly manicured finger at me.

I didn't say a word I just got up and head out quietly, I don't want issues with no one at all but now I realized this alone is shit and I'm to face more ahead of me but how can I do this alone?
