Some cries for help are loud,
These cries shake the walls like an earthquake a mile away.
Others are quite, inaudible to many of us.
But what about the people who hear the screams in the night,
What about the person who saw you fading but did nothing to color you back in,
What about them?
The quite cries are the most impactful, they send something to you.
Better yet they mark you.
They mark the moments until your own cries stop.
They mark the moments leading up to you losing your voice in yourself,
The fire in you.
They mark the moments until the infamous cries are heard,
You know the ones you thought were gone,
Because you "pushed them far away" in your mind. Many people if asked where demons originated would tell you this:
"They are fallen angels of heaven."
Or the famous phrase,
"From hell."
But what if I told you they are all wrong...
You created your demons,
Yes you whoever you are reading this.
Every insecurity,
Every negative event shaped them.
These demons when strong enough have the ability to shut you up,
Make you keep quiet,
Make you think terrible things about yourself and others,
Make you be alone every single day,
Make you see, hear, feel, things that aren't even an issue. What is it?
Mommy always told you to watch out for cars when you cross the street,
Or don't talk to strangers
Or better yet the "don't do drugs" speech...
What they didn't tell you was to watch out for yourself,
because you can hurt you more than anyone ever can.
You know it's the truth.
You created the most harmful thing for yourself, the demons.
Those voices you didn't even know you created scratch at you.
They pull you in like a fish,
Tugging at you,
Hitting you until you stop moving.
To them you're property that doesn't even know they belong to anyone.
There is no escaping them,
Trust me,
They'll just find you and whisper in your ear and all you can ever do is listen and try to put up a blockade,
But they will always drill a hole in it.
They want you to close yourself off,
You're easier to control that way.
But what can you do you're too naive to their game of hide the soul. What happens when you get tired of playing,
You throw in all your cards?
They'll toss them right back to you and scream their insults,
You'll try and close your eyes and cover your ears,
But they won't even allow you to do that,
you are at their mercy now.
This game they know too well,
They know the only way to\ end it,
They even throw suggestions to you.
You catch them innocently not knowing you've already lost.
You fall into their trap until you can't turn back.
You're theirs now.
The room seems to get smaller,
You throat begins to tighten,
They put a cup over your flame,
You can't breath,
Everything is coming to a close,
You've lost...
But then they offer you something,
You become theirs and you get your flame back but it won't be your oxygen you use to keep the flame going,
It will be their corrupted oxygen.
This insures you won't try to escape.
Though they can take that away they can't take away the memories of when your flame had it's own oxygen.
But that memory seems so distant now. What does one do when they know they are doomed?
You drag others with you pulling for a little bit of life.
Or you tie rocks to your ankles to sink faster so you can't bring anyone down with you...
There was once a time I would have chose option A... here's why...
Let me start with a story:
Once upon a time there was a boy,
The boy was very young and naive,
One day the boy met another boy,
Both boys were very different,
One liked sports and the other not so much,
Anyway these boys found themselves put together,
It was mesmerizing because for once in both boys lives they had a change in normal,
Because trust me when I tell you their relationship was not normal.
Both boys brought out the best in eachother always,
However, one boy began to fall in love,
The flame got brighter when with the other boy,
The boy felt like he was flying,
Soaring high like an eagle,
The boy never told him how he truly felt,
It went on like this for years,
Until the boy whom he loved very much killed himself,
This brought him down crashing,
His wings had been cut,
His flame had went dimmed significantly,
He was filled with pain, suffering, and sadness.
This brought problems in itself, because now the demons he had managed to keep away flooded his head slowly but surely driving him crazy.
By now the boy has realized that he is doomed but aren't we all?
The boy scratched and scratched trying to stay from drowning,
He cried out to the people he thought cared so deeply for him.
They looked and walked away,
This left the boy devastated,
This put out the boys flame,
But weirdly enough his flame didn't need oxygen anymore,
It learned to run without it,
However, it ran on pain.
It became so accustomed to the mistreatment it adapted...
This intrigued the demons who have never lost a game of hide the soul,
They couldn't figure out how to control him, which intrigued them even more.
They began to take an interest in the boy,
They told the boy to let them in,
When the boy asked why,
They gave him realism,
They showed him who his friends were,
And the boy saw he had none,
He saw he was alone,
He saw that he was to suffer alone.
The boy became even worse,
He grew nearer and nearer to ending the game,
But the demons didn't know that and when they did they devised a plan.
They knew how curious the boy is and they used it against him they told him what would happen if he ended the game,
They asked him what about his future,
Asked him about his life and it would get better....
The boy should have just ended the game.
He realized that day that he had no one to drag down with him,
He didn't even have anyone who wanted to be there,
He'll see one day to take my advice and end it.- a very realistic and concerned DemonsThis story influenced the choice of B, because even though you may think you got someone you don't.
