Beep. beep.
Ugh. My head is pounding. I didnt drink that much last night but im not very good at handling alcohol. The light streams through my bedroom window as I try to remember what happened last night.
Judd.
An electric pulse ripples through my body as i remember how it felt to have those green eyes looking at me and his body pressed up against me.
Beep. Beep.
I look at my phone. Its Leah. Apparently her parents have grounded her and she needs someone to help clean up last nights mess.
Yeah sure girl. Be over in a bit. :
: Omg thx, u are the best!!
I pull myself out of bed. Trying not to admit to myself that the only reason I said yes was to maybe see him again. I pull on the light washed skinny jeans that make my butt look good and a comfy sweater. I kiss my mum goodbye and head out the door.
"Thanks so much for coming!" Leah exclaims as she opens the door for me. Her Dad is standing in the hallway.
"Yes my beautiful daughter. One of the most valuable and precious things in life is true friendship. Like the one I have with you mother!" He says proudly.
"Yeah, Thanks Dad."
This makes me smile. Leahs Dad was always so positive and full of good spirit, but Leah was still annoyed that she was grounded. I look around at the mess. The house is trashed but ive seen worse.
"Well, hand me a trash bag and ill start collecting the rubbish." I say in good spirits as Leah smiles at me.
"Yeah sure, hang on a second though. My parents are totally making my brother and his friends help."
My heart skips a beat. Suddenly my hands start to sweat. I hadnt seen Judd since the bedroom. He had just disapeared. My heart is racing as Mr Birch kindly calls for his son to come downstairs.
The footsteps get closer and I get more and more nervous. I can feel someone coming around the corner. Im dizzy. My heart is pounding.
I brace myself for Judd to enter the room. But as they enter I look to where Judds piercing eyes should be.But theres nothing there at all.
I look down to see Leahs younger brother, the kid who calls himself party wolf and a boy who i think is 13 but already has a moustache.
Pheeew. I let out my breath and my heart calms down. I internally laugh at myself for being such an idiot. For some reason i am both relieved and thoroughly disappointed.
"Nicky, this is my friend. Shes helping us clean today so pleaaasee dont be weird."
"Well how do you do, my lady?" Nick asks raising his eyebrows. His formal manner makes me giggle but i stiffle my laugh.
"I am very well thank you, yourself?"
"I am also well" he replies, smiling. "These are my friends Jay and Andrew."
"Uh yes, party wolf" I say with a wink at Jay. His face lights up.
"Ow, oww!! PARTY WOLF!" He shouts with his hands in the air. "Damn straight I am. Your the new girl, yeah? My brothers think youre hot. They said they want to stick there di...."
"Jay!!" Interrupts Andrew. "Sorry, were gonna go start on the back yard. Arent we Nick?" Says Andrew embarrased as he adjusts his glasses.
"Yep, come on boys."
They leave the room.I turn to Leah. "No offence, but your brothers friends are weird!" I manage to get out through my laugh. She is laughing too.
"Yeah, one time I caught Andrew jerking off to my bathing suit."
We laugh even harder, although im not sure why. Its kinda creepy.
We get on to cleaning the house. With many hands its over with by the afternoon. Leah thanks me again as i leave to head home. Judd was no where to be seen. Although at times it did feel as if i felt his green eyes on me. Oh well, probably wishful thinking.Monday morning comes around and its time for school. I am much more comfortable here now although its only been a week. Less people tend to stare as I walk past. Kinda sad, i was getting used to it. I had kinda forgotten about Judd, or at least, i had convinced myself it was a one off thing and that I should just forget about him. But being at school reminded me that it happened, it was real, Judd is real and he is here somewhere.
Somewhere.
I go through my day trying not to think about him, but as I walk through the halls i catch myself looking for him, but as always he is no where to be seen. At lunch i sit with my friends at the far corner of the room. Everyone is chatting excitedly about the gossip from the party. Apparently, Tallulah had hooked up with some college guy.
"You went missing for a minute there, who were you with?!" Tallulah asks me sheepishly. Leah hides her giggle. "Yeah, it took you an awful long time to grab a bottle of vodka."
I can feel my cheeks begin to burn up.
"Oh hahaha, yeah! I..uh..I got lost and uh, well lucky that uh Judd showed me where to go."
Leah looks at me inquisitively not saying anything.
