Saturday night volleyball! Finally! I had finally got together a big enough group of people to get together at my little tiny private school to play volley ball.
As people arrived, we started warming up. My homeroom teacher, the kindergarten teacher, some of the students and their parents, and my friends Renee and Sierra.
We settled down to play a good game.
~Time skip~
We were about to start another game when, lo and behold, the master setter from Japan showed up, Oikawa Tooru.
What??????? What the heck is he doing here?! Why is he here?! How did he get here?!
"Is this the place they were having the volleyball games? Our host's friend told us that there would be matches held here."
Apparently the teachers knew about this, and the friend was a parent.
The kindergarten teacher was the first to welcome him."Come on in! We were expecting you. Here. You can take my place. I think I'm just about done playing volleyball."
We were expecting him? Some communicators you are. I was a bit miffed at the fact that most everyone knew except me.
"Oh! Didn't we meet earlier?"
"Yeah! Thanks a lot for teaching me. I really appreciate it."
"Iie. Speaking of which," he whispered to me, "do you know how to spike?"
"Not really," I whispered back. "I've never had a proper setter to set to me."
"Would you like to try?"
"Sure!"
"Do you think she can do a spike?" Oikawa asked my homeroom teacher, who was also my P.E. teacher.
"I think she can do it. She's practiced as much as she could, and I can only do so much."
"Okay."
During that set, boy! Seeing an experienced player play up close, it was amazing! Knowing that I was not the best on the court helped me. I knew that I had someone to cover if I didn't get there in time.
The spike! It was perfect! The set made it so easy to hit, it wasn't like my P.E. teacher or one of the kids trying to set to me. It was just right for my abilities. After the spike, I just looked over at Oikawa excitedly.
"YESSS!!! It worked!!" I ran over to him to give him a double high five. I kind of had to jump because he was so tall, but I jump anyways unless I do it with someone a lot shorter than me.
I loved playing with an experienced player. I wasn't the only one getting serious and pulling the team together.
Man, this guy's good! I mean, I know he's really famous over in Japan, but seeing it up close!
One part of me that always gives me a hard time no matter what started coming in action. Why don't you get up to his level?
Ya ejit! He's been working on this for who knows how long! No way!
~'Nother time skip! ;)~
"Bye! See you later, Lydia-chan!"
"Bye! Have a good night, Oikawa-san!"
I kind of wondered what he meant by "see you later", but I shrugged it off.
~Sunday afternoon~
"Lydia, Mom wants you!" my 16-year-old brother called down the stairs. Downstairs was my refuge, not my room. It was too accessible, and besides, downstairs had all the computers and electronics.
I came up to see what my mom wanted. Both my mom and dad were in the room.
"Lydia, you have been given an opportunity to go to Japan as a transfer student. Your dad and I have been discussing for a while, and we both feel that it would be a good opportunity. Would you want to go?"
I sat there in a bit of a shock. Japan? Transfer student? I've always wanted this, but to have Mom and Dad just come out and say it straight? After mulling over this for a little bit I responded. "I would love to go, but what all would that entail? What would I have to do before going?"
My dad tried to conceal a smile. "We'll get there in just a sec."
