A young girl about 11-12 ran elegantly through the forest as if nothing in the world mattered. She had golden blonde hair and sharp green eyes. Pointy elf ears peaked from beneath her golden hair. Despite her small size, she looked dangerous and quick. Like a snake.Grabbing her bow and her arrow, she crouched low in the trees, eyes directly on a small deer. It's head was bent to the grass, unaware of the girl's presence. The girl squinted her eyes, as she pulled back her arm, ready to aim.
The deer raised its head, ears pricked up and its tail doing the "warning flick." The small child quickly let the arrow go flying, knowing the deer will soon run away.
In a flash the deer leaped away, leaving the arrow stabbed through a tree. The girl let out a groan, frustrated at herself for letting good dinner fly away.
Mother isn't going to be happy, she thought gloomily. Her mother was the leader of the forest elf tribe, making the young girl- Gaia the leader's daughter. Since her mother had such a high rank, other elves expect... more from her. Gaia was born to be perfect, she was supposed to be perfect. That means, being responsible, being organized, being strong, being fast and not letting her target get away. Which she just did.
I can't come empty handed! She says in her head as she sprints in the forest, hoping to find some animals.
At the end though she still had no luck. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she walked down the trail that led home.
"OW!" Gaia looked to the spot where the sound came from. Behind some trees she can easily see two figures moving. She quickly climbed the tree and spied from above.
"The hell! You that's my toe you're stepping on!" A voice was heard from a man with dark hair. He was tall and had a bushy big beard. What he was carrying in his shoulder, was a huge red axe. Gaia couldn't help but look at the axe in amazement, the edges were perfectly sharp and the designs on it was beautiful.
"Sorry boss!" A smaller and more stout man said, rubbing his bald head.
"Look, those forest elves have sharp ears. If they catch us then we're dead!"
"But aren't you the one who ye-"
"QUIET, we are going to kill them so we have to make sure they don't see us until midnight!"
Gaia snapped out of her trance, kill? Humans and other species weren't allowed in these parts of the forest. And how stupid were they if they thought they can attack the forest elves tribe by themselves. Unless... there were more people waiting somewhere else, waiting for the boss's signal or order. Whoever they were, Gaia had to get rid of them. Maybe she could do this to repay the prey she didn't catch.
Gaia slowly creeped forward. Positioning herself on the branch, she thought of a plan. Should she stab them in the leg, tie them up with thick vines and get the older elves. Or, kill them right now? Even though these guys were far more bigger than her and stronger. They didn't have her speed and agility.
She made up her mind, she was going to kill them. Grabbing her bow she narrowed her eyes and let go of the arrow. It flew into the leg of the big bushy guy. He let out a yell of pain and dropped to he knees. The shorter man let out a yelp of surprise and started scrambling away, leaving his "friend" behind.
Leaving the taller one behind, Gaia ran through the trees, her green eyes never leaving the scared stout man. As she jumped on his back, she quickly took her dagger from her belt and stabbed him in the neck. Blood sprayed from his neck as he tumbled to the ground, the life slowly fading from his eyes. Gaia felt him go limp under her as she jumped of the corpse. This wasn't the first time she killed someone.
