Alone on the road again, Gendry thought. At least he didn't have Sansa complaining about being on a horse. Gendry wondered how Sansa and Arya could be so different even though they shared parents. Most boys would have drooled over Sansa but Gendry was not most boys. He rode north at great speed. He ride so fast that he didn't bother stopping at the inn at the Crossroads. He rode for days and nights, and he suddenly found himself in the Stark realm, the North. Arya had often talked about her home land but now Gendry saw that the sweet wild girl was right; the north was magical. It was amazing and vast. He found a castle, in ruins with life growing all over it. He rode around it and recognized it from a book that he had read from the Eyrie; Moat Caitlin. Once a great castle, oday only great blocks of black basalt lay scattered about, half sunk in the ground, where the wall once stood. Most of Moat Cailin's former towers have fallen into ruin and have not been permanently manned for centuries. However, the three remaining towers are more than capable of defending the passage to the south, provided that they are fully manned. He noted this. He noted everything. He knew it would be useful if or when heist attack to gain the Iron throne because of it sate strategic position at the Neck. He continued riding north, in to the land of the First men. The North was like a different world and so many things were new. The landscape, the religion, the legends it was all new to Gendry. He really liked it.
