After Jill left Hansel's Electronics she got into a vehicle and instructed her virtual driver to take her to the local airport, about a mile away. When Jill got to her destination she plotted the coordinance on the airport computer screen located on a wall in the lobby. A few moment later a vortex formed in front of her. Without hesitation she stepped into the opening. In an instant Jill and vortex were gone.

A few minutes later Jill was standing at the other end of the vortex near the lobby of a private airport located near a clearing deep in a woods. Where Jill dealt with many facets of her father's business. Jill had a large office on the 10th floor, with large windows that overlooked the experimental aeronautics industrial complex and the science labs.

When Jill got to her office, she sat the FAX machine on a large quantum computer display table she used for virtual 3-D cad work and opened up the box. She took the FAX machine out of the box, set the machine on a counter top at her work station, then opened a side drawer in a cabinet, just below the counter top, and grabbed what she needed out of it. she used the small fillips screwdriver to take the cover off the FAX machine. Then she snipped some wires and proceeded to put another circuit board in the FAX machine. Once the new circuit board was in the Fax machine, she connected some wires from the 2 circuit boards together and fused the wires together with a tiny gas torch and some solder. After Jill put the cover back on the FAX machine she plugged the power cord into a crystal radio. The radio was a device that picked up radio signals through the airways and converted them to power. Less than a minute went by before a light came on, on the FAX machine indicating it was connected to her computer network.

After Jill had her FAX machine up and running she sent her short story, and leading edge product sketches to a FAX machine her father had at his home 20 years in the past. That was the key that sparked the on-slot of events that caused her father to invest everything he had into the business he starts in the year 2026. His daughter was 6 years old. After Jill finishes her project she heads home earlier than normal. Jill lives just over a vortex bridge, just a moment away from work.

When Jill gets home she changes into a pair of, color-at-will optic denim pants & tee top and boots and she heads outside. Near her home there are a wealth of berry bushes. Jill spends the early part of the evening picking the berries, before dinner. After processing dinner, consumption, cleanup, and a sonic shower, Jill lays in her recliner to listen to her eBook. Only a short time passes before she falls fast asleep.

Meanwhile, Jack is finished working for the day. He sets the security system, turns the lights out and leaves the office supply store. As Jack is locking the door there's a bright flash of light and a loud crackling sound like burning twigs that echoes from the evening sky. It seemed odd to him because when he looked up into the heavens all he sees is the twinkling of stars. The hair on the back of Jack's neck stands on end. Jack walks through the parking lot about 100 feet and gets into his faded white, late model van. Jack puts the key in the ignition lock and with a twist of his wrist.....It starts, and Jack sits back in his seat for a moment feeling more at ease.

The air became crisp that evening on the way home. Jack's vehicle was heading east on a stretch of highway that ran along a northern state border. It was cruising about 65 miles an hour, when suddenly there was snow on the ground on both sides of the highway, then Jacks van ran out of snow cleared road. The van traveled through the deep snow for about a 100 feet before the rear wheels began to spin and it couldn't go any further. The emergency flashers were set, and 911 was called to no prevail. The engine continued to idle for about an hour before the fuel ran low. After the engine and lights were shut off there was nothing but dead silence and a pitch black blanket of darkness. There was nothing that could be done except to pray in the cold blackness of the night.

After a short time the snow seemed to have a blueish sort of glow to it. Then In the distance a very large greenish translucent beings appeared. It was so tall it towered over the tallest trees. There was concern from inside Jacks vehicle when the giant being moved towards it. When the incredibly large being got near the truck it sat down in the snow. It didn't take long before inner compartment of the van developed an uncomfortable stench that must have been emanating from the being. The last thing Jack heard before he passed out was, "fee, fi, fo, fum. I smell the blood of an englishman, be he alive or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread!

When Jack woke up the sun was out and the huge being was gone. It must have cleared the snow from his van doors because he was able to open it without a problem. Only a few minutes went by before he saw a red 4 wheel drive pickup truck. The truck driver stopped and said he had a tow cable to pull the jack's vehicle out of the snow. It wasn't quite long enough but fortunately Jack had a long tow strap. Together, the tow strap and cable were long enough to pull Jack's van out of the snow. After Jack's van was free from the snow' Jack asked the truck driver how much he wanted for pulling him out of the snow. The guy with the red pickup just said with a smile to just forget it, it was on him. Then the truck driver wish Jack lots of luck and the truck driver drove away. Jack had planned on going home, he thinks about changing his mind, then when he looks at his watch he realizes it was Sunday, his day off, so he decides to continue heading back home. Home in Atlantis where is 6 year old daughter is surely waiting for him.
