It was raining outside. The morning practice was delayed to the bad weather. Some members made it in time and some was still stuck in their houses or on the street, waiting for the rain to subside.
Yone had been wanting to speak about this matter for a couple of months now, but she never got the time or the timing was never right. She walked in the locker room today thinking, "This is it." Seeing Sugai already arrived as well, she asked The Captain to sit down with her. She thought Sugai was the right person to be informed first before anyone else.
"I'll be quitting to pursue my education," Yone said in front of her. Even though her voice was low, there was no doubt in her eyes. No regret. No guilt. That was what she wanted.
"And there's nothing we say that can change your mind?" The Captain asked.
Yone nodded. Sugai was still left in shock and couldn't say anything more. Deep down, everyone knew this was coming.. Yone was born to study, and there was nothing that could stop her. Sugai could only comfort her and be an understanding friend.
Suddenly, they both heard the door slammed shut. Quickly Yone stood up and saw someone in a grey hoodie running away from the door, drenched from head to toe because the rain. It was Hirate who overheard their conversation behind the door.
"Techi, wait! Where are you going?"
"The bathroom! Can't you see I'm drenched?" She walked away from Yone, hiding her face.
"Did you hear us? I just want to explain..!"
"Oh, fuck off Yone!" Hirate finally stopped, "Just fucking go!"
Yone didn't even bother to chase her any further, disappointed, "Fine. I'll make sure you'll be the last person I'll say goodbye to!"
"I don't care!"

*flashback*
Girls night out and sleepovers were never a thing for Yonetani Nanami. The closer it got to midnight, the louder the girls screamed, and the wilder they behaved. Yone preferred spending the holidays with her books, but she thought she had it give it a try since she would not be here forever with these girls.
In a villa that Sugai owned, the 21 girls of the academy stayed just for this weekend. There was a pool in the backyard, and that night, they were all gathered there for barbeque.
Suddenly, someone approached Yone who sat alone near the campfire.
"Ugh, I can't stand it anymore!" Hirate sat down next to her with annoyed face.
"What?"
"Mon-chan being so clingy towards Oda Nana," Hirate replied, puffing her cheeks just like a child.
Yone chuckled, "Don't tell me you're jealous!"
"Jealous?! More like.. disgusted," the youngest rolled her eyes but quickly added, "But don't tell them."
"Don't worry, I called them disgusting all the time."
The two girls laughed under the starry sky. Other people see them as being close friends because the so-not-significant-age-gap, but the truth is it was because they almost always share the same ideas and feelings towards something. They laughed at each other's jokes, which sometimes no one else could relate.
