A MAN AND A WOMAN SAT DOWN BY THE CAFE WINDOW. They were obviously on a date with each other. The man took the girl's hand, making her smile softly. Abel scowled.

He was incredibly handsome, with soft blonde hair and brilliant blue eyes. He looked like he had just fell from the heavens. The woman had dark brown hair, brown eyes, light freckles across her nose. It was so very blatant that they were beautiful and in love (Abel hoped they weren't). Two beautiful people on a date on a beautiful day.

One of them was his ex. Abel found it very coincidental that they had chosen the very cafe he was sitting in to have their date. His scowl deepened as Abel watched the girl whisper something into the man's ear. He knew what their game was. They wanted to make him jealous, the bastards. He looked down to avoid their gaze.

Two can play at that game, he scoffed to himself. He would make his ex jealous too.

However, there was one glaring problem: he had no one to make his ex jealous of.

Suddenly, the door to the cafe opened, causing the little bell to ding. Abel looked up from his cup of coffee. His eyes widened and his mouth opened just a smidgen.

In walked a girl with waist long black hair and dull green eyes. Her eyes scanned the interior of the cafe, as if she was looking for someone. Abel decided right then and there, that he was the one she was looking for.

He stood up and started toward her, his dark eyes trained on her. The girl saw him and her eyes widened. She turned her head around. There was no one there. She looked back and forth between Abel and the door, as if she couldn't believe that Abel, the most handsome man she had ever seen, had noticed her. She gulped when Abel stopped just a two steps in front of her.

"I can't believe you came, baby." He said with a big smile on his face. He suddenly had the lady in an embrace and pressed his lips to her ear, making her jump. "Hi my name is Abel," He whispered into her ear. "Help me make my ex jealous, please. Pretend to be my girlfriend."

He sounded so desperate at that moment to the girl named Juni. Juni whispered back to him, "Um, sure, Abel." Her agreement made Abel's smile grow. "My name is Juni."

Abel removed his lips from Juni's ear and released her of his embrace. For some strange reason, she missed the warmth radiating from Abel's large body.

"Thanks for coming, Juni. I thought you wouldn't come." He said, gingerly taking her hand. "I was just about to leave until you showed up."

Juni blinked, before responding. "I would never stand you up, darling." She gripped Abel's hand, pulling him down so she could press a cheeky kiss to his cheek. Abel stiffened. "Never," She said.

Abel backed away from Juni, and pulled her toward his table. "You're always fashionably late, Juni." The comment made Juni giggle. She pulled out of his grasp to loop her arm through his. Juni pulled his arm closer to her torso.

"Can you get me an iced coffee with lots of whipped cream?" She asked him, looking up to him and batting her eyelids.

Abel rolled his eyes. "Lay off with the puppy eyes," He said, annoyance creeping into his voice. "I was going to get you one anyway." He gestured for her to sit with his free arm, and tugged his left arm away from Juni. Abel then turned around on his heel to go to the counter, muttering something under his breath.

Juni sat down slowly. A half full cup of black coffee, belonging to Abel presumably, lay in front of her. She grimaced at his coffee choice; she liked her coffee with lots of sugar, flavored creamer, and whipped cream. Her friends had always told her that her coffee preference matched her personality (overbearing and obnoxious).

Abel, out of nowhere, sat down next to her. "When they call your name, go get your coffee." He told her, sliding his cup in front of him. She nodded.

Juni noticed a beautiful couple covertly staring at Abel and her. Their scrutiny made her squirm. She was not as beautiful as them and Abel. She felt out of place being Abel's girlfriend, even if it was just for pretend. She scooted closer to Abel until she felt the side of his arm brush against the side of her torso. She blushed at the close proximity (even though she was the one who initiated it).

Abel glanced at her. He was fully aware of her closeness. It made him uncomfortable, but he had to roll with it, if he wanted to make his ex jealous. He slung his arm closest to Juni around her shoulders, pulling her closer. He peeked at the couple, and smiled in triumph. His ex partner was practically shaking with anger. They looked about ready to punch Juni.

Juni enjoyed the feeling of Abel's arm around her shoulder. She stretched her body to meet Abel's ear. "Who are we trying to make jealous?" She asked softly.

Abel turned his head to her, with a small smile on his face. He pressed a chaste kiss to her forehead, making Juni flush. "Don't ask," He said lazily to her, not even bothering to whisper. "And of course I got your coffee order right. I'm a good boyfriend."

Juni blushed, and felt her heart ache. Even though they were literally strangers, she couldn't help but feel attached to him somehow. Like they were soulmates. She wished that after Abel was finished making his ex jealous that they would actually stay together. And after many years of absolute bliss with him as her boyfriend, Abel would ask him to marry her on a beach in Hawaii. Their wedding would be so beautiful; she would invite all her best friends and family...

"Juni! Hello?" Abel shook her roughly by the shoulders.

"Yes?" She asked dreamily, still having the picture of their wedding in her mind.

"Your coffee?" Abel asked. He stared at her for a moment before sighing. "Also, my ex already left, so we can stop with this," He gestured at his arm still around Juni's shoulders. "now." He removed his arm from around Juni's shoulders and got up from his seat.

His ex had saw them together and had left angrily with their date, just according to plan.

"Wait, what?" Juni asked. Her back straightened as she turned to look at Abel's emotionless face.

"You don't need to be my fake girlfriend anymore. Thanks though." Abel said. He looked very cold at that moment. He looked like what they were only supposed to be: strangers. "If you give me your bank account info, I'll give you some money as thanks."

Juni blinked. Once, twice. "Huh?"

"Thank you," He said, with a small, grateful smile. "By the way, what's your full name?"

"Juniper Malloy," She managed to stammer. Everything was happening so fast, Juni did not understand anything. She didn't want him to leave. "Can we see each other again?". Oh gosh, Juni thought. She was acting just like a lovesick teenager.

Abel raised one eyebrow. In his mind, he was actually debating it. Should he, or should he not? Get the chance to make his ex partner jealous? Have someone to have a bit of fun with? And on top of that, he was hungry. Yes, he was very hungry.

"No," He said plainly. Juni's head fell. "But, if I change my mind, I'll let you know." He gives her a quick wink before running toward the door. "Goodbye, Juniper Malloy."
