The road to Adrian's grandmothers house was long. Trees rose and fell alongside the country road. Much different from the usual over activity of the city we lived in. Still the scenery was beautiful.

We pulled up to a huge house with the most beautiful outside décor you could ever lay your eyes upon. White and red rose bushes circled around the house, leaving an opening for the path up to the front door. The whole house was cream in color and black shutters covering every window. This house had to have at least have 15 rooms.

"Wow Adrian, your grandmothers house is beautiful." I said still gazing through the window.

He reached over and gently rubbed my thigh. Looking at me his eyes sparkled Gold with flakes of blue here and there.

"She's going to love you Mia Bella."

I placed my hand on top of his interlacing our fingers together and sucked in a huge breathe and breathed out. I was so excited to meet his family. My soon to be family. Their future Luna.

We walked up to the front door and Adrian knocked twice. A tiny lady opened the door and greeted us. I stepped in behind Adrian my jaw almost dropping to the floor. The inside was twice as beautiful as the outside.

Adrian put his hand on my back and smiled at me.

"Dov'è la nonna?"

(Where's Grandmother)

"Sta leggendo nella sua stanza. Sei cresciuto così tanto."

(She's in her room reading. You've grown so much.)

He let out a loud laugh smiling from ear to ear. It was nice seeing him so happy even though I had no idea what they were saying.

"Grazie!"

(Thank you!)

He kissed the little lady on the cheek and grabbed my hand and led me up a flight of stairs. We passed by four doors before coming to a grand door frame lined with the most beautiful sketches in the wood. Adrian lifted his hand to knock but paused. I wrapped my arm around his and laid my head against his arm.

"Are you okay."

He wrapped his hands around my waist pulling me into his large frame that towered over me. Resting his head on mine he sighed.

"It's just been a while."

I rubbed my hands along his back pressing my ear into his chest listening to his Heart beat steadily. The sound of his heart is something I could listen to on repeat for the rest of my life.

"I'm here for you babe. Always."

Kissing my forehead he let a knock rap against the door before opening it. Walking in, his grandmother was standing in front of her window with a book in her hand. Her long black and silver curly mixed hair flowed almost to her waist. Her frame about the same size as mine. And her skin still youthful with a caramel tint. I'd do anything to look like her as a grandmother.

I stood next to the bed frame as Adrian walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder. She turned around and hugged him tightly. Her hair falling slightly over her face. She released him and her gaze met mine. Her eyes a dark shade of green glistened as the sun hit them through the window. She seemed to be studying me as she walked closer. I gulped hard hoping neither one of them heard as she approached me.

I was so nervous I started messing with my nose ring. Sliding the hoop up and down.

"Nonna questo è il mio compagno di Aly."

(Grandma this is my mate Aly.)

(She doesn't speak. Hasn't said a word in 23 years. But she can hear you.) Adrian said through mind link.

I nodded in his direction.

She turned towards Adrian then back towards me. She lifted her hand and a purple flash escaped her palm, floating near my face.

"Lila."

I looked at her confused. Lila? Who in the hell is Lila and what was that light.

Adrian ran over to us and lightly grabbed his grandmothers arm.

"Nonna?"

She pulled her arm from him turning her gaze towards me once again lifting her hand towards me. A dark purple Light emerged from her palm in the shape of lightning.

I held my breathe afraid of what was about to happen. Rayela was going crazy. I was trying to compose my self. The last thing I want is to attack Adrian's grandmother.

She raised her hand higher.

"LILA!"

The last thing I remember is Adrian screaming my name and the purple lightning striking my eyes and my chest and my body tingling and burning. My legs gave away underneath me and I fell to the ground. My eyesight was hazy but I could see Adrian running to me holding me in his arms. His grandmother repeating.

Lila. Lila. Lila. Lila. Lila.

I tried to speak but the words wouldn't form. My chest felt tight and my hands shifted between paws and hands with the same purple lightning circling around. I fought to keep my eyes opened as Adrian carried me back down the steps. His voice still muffled.

"Adr-Adrian." I forced out.

"Help m-me p-pl-please."

My whole body began shaking uncontrollably. My hands now covered in the purple lightning. My arms felt as if they were on fire. I let out an ear piercing scream as Adrian tried to get me out the door. It was as if something didn't want me to leave and the pain hit me like a train. He pushed through the door and the pain spread throughout my whole body sending shock waves of sizzling and excruciating pain. My screams grew louder as we approached his car.

He laid me on the ground and crouched down next to me cupping my face in his hands.

"Aly?! Aly can you hear me?! Please Mia Bella!"

His voice faded out into nothing.

Then there was darkness. I felt as if my soul and mind were trapped in my body. I could hear everything around me but I couldn't open my eyes. I knew I was in a hospital room as the doctors tried diagnosing me.

I felt like I was standing in a black room with nowhere to go.

I screamed.

No sound.

I tried running somewhere. Anywhere. But it was no use.

Darkness consumed me and I yet again drifted off.

Into nothing.
