"No, I'm telling you, I can't move the appointment to next week." I sigh, running a hand through my Blonde hair. "No! I'm not coming in!...That's not my problem!" I shout at my boss. "I had it worked out and you changed it. I have to go. Goodbye." Angrily I end the call, throwing my phone across the room.

The device hits the wall with a loud bang, making my poor Kookie flinch and run to hide in his little cage.

"Aww, baby, did I scare you?" I ask sweetly as I walk toward the cage, opening the hatch to reach inside.

At first he squirms, but a moment later he's still and snuggling in my arms.

"Sorry, Kookie." I kiss the top of his furry, black ears. "My boss is being dumb today. I shouldn't have scared you though." I pout, lifting him up to look into his black, sparkling eyes. His little tail wiggles excitedly.

I smile and laugh at his cuteness as I carry him into the kitchen with me.

"You want a snack?" I ask, my tone as if I'm talking to a baby. "Yeah?" He says nothing in reply, but I know he's always down for a treat.

I set him on the floor as I quickly grab a carrot from the fridge.

I hear the little bell around his neck begin to jingle as he tries to hop away, but I'm quick to catch him.

"No way." I laugh. "You're not running away again. I had to chase you around here for an hour the last time you escaped!" I kiss the top of his head and put the little piece of carrot to his nose.

Quickly he gobbles it up.

~Time Skip~

"Okay, I'm off to the doctor, Kookie." I call as I grab my coat and keys, heading toward the door. "I love you!" I send him a flying kiss and leave.

Kookie's POV

I can feel my heart race as I watch him leave.

I never know where my owner Jimin goes everyday but I always feel so nervous when he's gone. I run little circles around my cage, listening to my little collar jingle as I whimper softly.

Again and again I check to see if he's back yet, however the front door remains closed, and the house stays quiet.

"Sqee?" I call loudly, but there's no answer from my sweet master and quickly I run into my little house where I hide until I know my Jimin is back home.

~6 Hours Later~

I wake with a start as I hear the front door open.

Quickly I rush out of my house and to the front of my cage, kneeling up on my hind legs as I look to see if Jimin is home.

"Just bring the groceries inside." I hear him grunt and immediately I begin to squeal, feeling overjoyed that he's returned safely.

I don't know what he goes and does for so long, but I've heard from the other rodents that pass through the house, and the pigeons outside that it's a pretty scary place to go to business.

"Aish~" I hear his friend groan as he walks into the kitchen. "How can you stand that damn thing? It's so annoying."

"Oh stop it!" I hear Jimin say, defending me. "It just means he's happy to see me." I can hear his footsteps nearing the bedroom door and my tail begins to wiggle in anticipation. "Hi, baby." He smiles brightly at me, and I begin to run circles. "Aww, did you miss me?" He chuckles, taking off his jacket and setting it on his bed before finally opening the cage.

He picks me up gently, nuzzling my fur with his nose, before kissing me and carrying me to the kitchen.

"Oh gross. You're gonna bring it in here?" His friend snarls at me, and I glare back at him.
