Hi, my name is Charlotte Clearly. I am currently 15 years old. My best friend's name is Charlie.. Yes there is a reason that our names are a lot alike. My mom and his mom are also best friends. I'm pretty sure they are wanting us to get married when we are older, but I don't have feelings for Charlie like that. I'm pretty sure he also doesn't like me like that. In fact, I like his older brother, Blake.. But let's not start getting ahead of ourselves. Back to the matter at our hands...

My mom was sitting on the bench, patiently waiting for the doctor to tell her when I was supposed to be born. Another lady, with about the same size stomach as my mom's, came walking in. She sat right next to my mom, which was quite awkward because there were so many other open seats around, and didn't talk. Since my mom is the kind of person that doesn't like any awkwardness in the air, she starts talking.

"Hi, my name is Barbara Clearly. So, are you having a boy or girl?" my mom asked anxiously.

"Hello Barbara, my name is Kathy Summers. Nice to meet you. And about your question, I am having a boy. I'm very excited. I was hoping for a girl, because I already have a boy at home, but now I can't wait for another. Blake, the son at home, is excited to have someone he can play army men with." Kathy and my mom laughed at that. My mom was surprised about how friendly Kathy was.

"Yes. I can't wait for my baby girl to come.. She is going to be my first kid. In fact, that is why I am here. The doctor is going to tell me when my baby is due." my mother gushed, excitedly.

"Hey, so am I!" Kathy giggled. At that moment on, they somehow knew they were going to be best friends for a long time.

"Barbara Clearly? The doctor is now ready for you," stated the doctor. It took at least an hour to get into the doctor's room. Doctor appointments take forever.

"Bye Kathy.. I will tell you the date my daughter is due, since you will probably still be here when my appointment is done," my mother rolled her eyes.

"OK.. I can't wait to hear the news! You are probably right, though, I will still be here." Kathy whispered. You may be wondering why I am calling Charlie's mom by her first name. Since we are so close, that's what we do. We call each other's moms by their first name. They don't mind, though. They think it's cute.

A few minutes pass, and my mom sits eagerly on the operating table. She was acting as if she was a dog that's waiting to be fed a bone.. Crazy. When the doctor finally returned, she sat up. She had been waiting for this moment for months.

"Your daughter will be due on March 16th," he informed. My mom let out a huge squeak. Thankfully, she had such a nice doctor, that he thought it was funny. March 16th was only 3 months away. She had a lot to do.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you doctor! I am so excited! I'm going to have a baby shower, dress her up all nice and pretty, and buy her fancy toys. She is going to be so spoiled!" my mom said practically yelling. She walked out the door, and back into the room with Kathy.

"She is due on March 16th." my mom told Kathy.

"I'm so happy for you! Now it's my turn.. Will you come with me? I want you to know when my baby is due." Kathy pleaded.

"Of course I will! I'm going to give you my number so we can talk all about our new babies, and set them up on play dates. It's 555-6725," my mom wrote it down for her. They walked together back into the operating room, this time Kathy sat on the table. They waited for about 15 minutes when the doctor came back.

"What a coincidence.. Your baby is also due on March 16th," the doctor exclaimed. Kathy's, and my mom's, face lit up. They started jumping up and down as if they have just won the lottery. They were so excited.

For the next 3 months, they shared a baby shower, went to lunch, and shopped for baby necessities together. They tried coming up with a name close to the same thing, and that's why I am currently named Charlotte, and he is named Charlie. On the day of my, and his,  birth, their rooms were right next to each others. Charlie was the first to be born, and I came a few hours after him. Thus, starting Charlie and I's friendship.
