Karimah's POV

I awoke and it took me a minute to remember where I was, A strange country. Today was my wedding, that was a strange thought. I rolled out of bed and there was a knock on the door, I wrapped a colorful scarf around my head and mouth and answered the door. A girl about my height answered the door. She had on a very elaborate gown on and her hair was up in a complicated braid. Her eyes were soft and she had thin features. She held out her delicate hand, "Hello, my name is Arabella." She smiled and her eyes lit up. Shes was quite beautiful and she just stood in the doorway waiting for me to do something. I stepped aside and motioned for her to enter and she passed me. She turned to look at me, "We haven't met yet but, I'm Emmett's little sister, your future sister in-law." She giggled. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to fumble over my broken English.

"Anyway I'm here to help you get ready for the wedding," She waved her hand to the window and I rushed to the bay window and looked out onto the courtyard. People were everywhere, setting up tents and setting flowers everywhere. A band was setting up and a carpet was rolled out, I turned back to Arabella and she grabbed my arm and led me out. I glanced at the grand clock at the end of the hall and it struck noon. The wedding was in three hours my stomach dropped. Everything was spinning and moving so fast. Arabella raced through the halls and led me to the same room I was in yesterday. The plump lady twisted me around and led me to a chair. I sat down and she removed my scarf and I stared at her.

"You will make a beautiful bride." She said so softly I almost didn't hear her. The next hour consisted of tugging and pulling my hair into weird angles. My yelps were disregarded and Pins were stuck in my hair. She then began coating my face in powder and panting my eyelids and my eyelashes. When it was all over the plump lady handed me a mirror and I stared back almost not recognizing myself. I stared back at big hazel eyes and my lightly tanned skin. Arabella wrapped a diamond necklace around my thin neck. With that they brought me to the tiny circular stage and I put my dress on with the help of the plump lady and a Thin lady. The queen walked in and clapped her hands together then put her hands to her mouth.

"You're beautiful, Alina you did a great job." She walked up to me and grabbed my hand and I looked at her. "Welcome to the family Karimah." She squeezed my hand gently and then left with Arabella. I sat on a chair and looked out the window at the people scrambling around to finish my wedding. A tear rolled down my face, I didn't want this. I never wanted this, growing up I would dream of my wedding, all the untold happiness and magic of true love. That one day I would be loved and not tossed away and forgotten until they needed me to join the Kingdoms. This was not love this was a sick ritual. Alina came up beside me and wiped a tear away.

"Don't go and mess up your makeup now dear, I know this must've happened so fast but, I've known Emmett since he was wetting his britches, he is the kindest, most loving man I have met. You will come to love him I promise that. Now come along we have a wedding to attend."

Emmett's POV

Richard adjusted my bow tie, I smoothed out my suit and looked in the mirror.

"I don't even know what she looks like Rich..." I turned and looked at my best man. He wore a similar suit but mine had a shorter navy blue suit jacket with gold buttons that had coat tails that hung down to the back of my knee. I had a white dress shirt tucked into black dress pants. Rich turned to me, "You also haven't heard what she sounds like... She could be ugly and have a shrew voice." He laughed but there was a little bit of truth behind his eyes.

"Doesn't matter she will be my wife and I will love her unconditionally." I turned once more to the mirror fixed my hair and walked out the door. Arabella ran up to me and hugged me. Stunned but I hugged her back.

"She's beautiful." She smiled before I could question further mother pushed her along kissing my cheek as she went by. We continued down the hall where my father was waiting. He slapped me on the back and smiled. "Welcome to manhood son" I nodded, knots were forming in my stomach as I stepped out into the courtyard. There must've been over 300 people sitting down staring at me. I gulped as father and Richard guided me to the front where the priest stood. I stared ahead at the doors and the end of the aisle. Behind those doors my future wife stood. Richard stood next to me as father sat down in the front with mother.

"Relax this is your wedding day." Rich reassured but it didn't make me feel any better. It felt like an eternity I was standing there when finally the band began playing I looked down the aisle and the doors opened and I gasped....
