As I was walking into school listening to music through my headphones I see Maya Riley and Lucas talking in the middle of the hallway I walk around them and go to my locker.

After I grabbed my books I go to class.

*After school*

As I'm walking home I decide to go to Kurt's and Rachel's instead.

"Hello is anyone home"I ask as I walk inside.

"Sophia"Rachel said coming out of her room.

"Hey Rachel"I said hugging her.

"What are you doing here shouldn't you be at home"she ask.

"Naw my moms at work and I'm pretty sure maya is going to eat at Riley's I don't really feel like eating alone at home "I said sadly.

"Oh ok make yourself at home and when Kurt gets here we can all cook something"she said as we sat on the couch I nodded.

"Is it okay if I do my homework"I ask her.

"Yeah do you need any help "she asks.

"Yes please math is kicking my behind"I said glaring at my math homework.

"Okay let's start in that"Rachel said before she started helping me with my homework.

After we were done with all my homework Kurt walked in.

"Sophia your here yay I was about to text you to see if you wanted to come over"Kurt said putting his bag on a hook by the door along with his coat.

"Yeah I didn't really wanna be alone at home tonight"I said.

"Okay I'm just glad you feel comfortable enough to come over here like I always say if you need anything just ask."Kurt said before we all walked into the kitchen to do dinner.

After everything was cooked we all sat at the table and ate while talking and laughing for the first time in a long time I felt happy ever since my mom started working late we never ate at the table together like a family and even before that it was always just her and maya I finally felt like I belonged.

"So I wanted to ask is it okay if I put you under my emergency contacts at school we usually have my mom but I feel more comfortable with you two"I ask.

"Yes that's fine we will love for you too put our names"Kurt said smiling wide the same as Rachel.

"So how is it going at school any dances any plays we should know about"Rachel asks excitedly.

"Just this dance that's coming up this Friday"I said before they can say anything I cut them off."I don't really plan on going"

"What no you should go it should be fun"Kurt said.

"I know it's just in the end of the dance they usually close the night with one of the parents dancing with their kid"I said sadly.

"Doesn't your mom go to those"Rachel asks confused.

"Yeah when she has the time but she usually only ends up dancing with maya while I just stay sitting down at the table."I said sadly.

"Well this year it will be different come on go to he dance it will be fun we will even buy you an outfit"Kurt said trying to bribe me into going.

"Fine I'll go but I don't need you to buy me an outfit I'll just find something in my closet"I said not wanting them to waste their money on me.

"Non sense"Rachel said waving me off.

"Please don't waste your money on me"I said looking at both of them.

"Fine we won't waste our money"Kurt said making Rachel look at him.
