...I WAS FIVE AND COULDNT MAKE CEREAL BECAUSE I COULDNT REACH OKAY. It's not because I was too lazy, it was because I was to gosh darn short to reach the shelf. Now every morning I have a pillow thrown at my face so I can reluctantly get off my comfortable, warm bed and start my terrible days. I look like I pull all-nighters now.

Both Shouto and you were both fighting a nomu alone. You were both on an infiltration mission but had been attacked out of the blue. It had been 5 minutes and you were both severely injured. Both of your quirks couldn't handle a nomu. After getting your guys' provisional licenses you seemed to be running into a lot of trouble. You both needed to fight until everyone was evacuated or at least until backup came, the chances of receiving help in a non-urban area of Japan was 25%.
The chances of one of you dying was extremely high.
Todoroki knew,
And you knew,
If everyone was going to survive, one had to be bait for the others to reach safety. You looked at Todoroki, who was desperately dodging Nomus attacks. The situation seemed hopeless you were on the verge of passing out from overuse of your quirk and Todoroki had lost too much blood.
"Haaah,"He breathed, "This Nomu...Isn't like the..others.."
You looked over at him, "Really...I didn't notice.."You joke
It wasn't time to be messing around, but it was something to take your guys' mind off everything that was going to happen. You run toward Todoroki blocking the incoming attack, which sends you flying into a display window of a drug store. Glass is now stabbing at your back as you try to get up quickly enough to rejoin with Shouto. You try to muster up enough strength to hit the Nomu with a thunderstorm that would hopefully damage his brain, but that would be your last move. After that..you would most likely...You shook your head.
"Shouto! We can't keep fighting, it's pointless! We have to take out its master first! The person has to be somewhere nearby..!" You yelled
He just shook his head, as he burned the Nomu's eyes with fire. In that time he ran towards you. He crouched down and carried you in his arms, running away so you could both catch your breath. "It's pointless...Even if we did...We don't have the energy to do so."He explained
You agreed, he was right. You lifted your head,
"Shouto, I can kill the Nomu."You told him monotonous
"How do we do that?" He asked, tilting his head in curiosity
"Not we...Me.."
He glared at you, "We're not doing this Y/n, we're both getting out of this alive." He said sternly. You looked down, no matter how many times you told him, he just couldn't find anyway to accept yours or his death, "...We both know...deep down...one of us will die today..Accept reality...Shouto.."Your voice broke. He stopped running, you could immediately feel his whole body tremble, he let you down.
"I'll go..."He announced
Your eyes widened, "No! I'll go! Besides your more fit for a hero than I am! You're more suitable for evacuating while I finish off! Please!" You begged, "I want you too live..."
You didn't want him to die, you wanted him to continue living. It couldn't make you any happier thinking about him surviving and being a great hero one day. Surviving and making new bonds with people. You wanted him to do all of that, the sad part was You couldn't be a part of it. It pained you, thinking about death. It's not that you were scared; you had been prepared for death since you went to UA. Just the part of what comes after is what sent you over the edge. A part of you wanted to do at least this for him while something in your mind kept screaming out to keep on living with Todoroki, the price?
Civilians dying.
You shook your head violently. You would do it by force if that's what it came down to. "Let me Fight! Please, Shouto!" You tried saying one last time. He reached for your hand and held it tightly.
"I-I can't...I won't let you die for me!" He argued, his eyes starting to tear. "I'm sorry y/n, but it's my turn." You tensed, barely realizing what he meant. You tried getting away from his grip, "Shouto!! Don't you dare!" You hissed.
He quickly slammed your hand against a nearby wall and froze it. He did this with your legs also. "Damn it! Shouto, get back here and release me!" You demanded. You struggled trying your best to free yourself. It started to become very frustrating and you began crying. He stood there, "Sorry...but it's my turn. Goodbye, y/n. Please, don't be sad when I go..Remember, I love you.." He turned away.
You began sobbing violently, you couldn't accept it. YOU were going to fight. And yet, he thought ahead of you and did it by force before you could make a move. "Please! Shouto! Don't do this!" You begged.
"I'm sorry.."
You were at your end, you had quickly gathered more energy than you needed for the thunderstorm, but it had gone to waste. You couldn't use it anymore since you couldn't see your target. Everything started going black and cold.
"...Shouto" You passed out against the wall where you were frozen against.
You jolted up. You scanned the room you were in, it was a hospital bed.
"Who brought me here...?" You gasped, "Shouto!" You got off of your bed and limped over to the door. Outside your door was Midoriya and Bakugo. They looked down. Bakugo looked up and shot his gaze down quickly.
"Bakugo..W-Where's Shouto..?"
"....Deku." He nudged him with his elbow. Izuku jumped, looking towards your direction. His face softened in sadness. He walked up to you and handed you a piece of paper.
"Y/n...Shouto gave this to me and said he wanted you to have it..."He managed to choke out. You're whole world crumbled, he died...?
"H-He's gone..?"
Bakugo nodded slowly. Rubbing the back of his head. You opened the paper and began reading it, the words it contained made you tremble, in both sadness and happiness. At the end it said,
"Live, continue living until you can find a new reason for living, y/n"
You smiled through the tears that fell from your face.
