"What do you mean you can't control it?"

"I don't know! One minute I'm myself then there's this sharp pain in my chest and the next thing I know is that I've done something horrible."

This wasn't good, Sal thought. Not at all.

"Have you by any chance seen a shadowy figure recently?" Sal said urgently.

Travis looked terrified for a moment.

"Don't tell me it's real. Please it can't be! I thought it was all in my head!"

"Travis listen to me!" Sal shouted grabbing his shoulder. "You've seen it haven't you? The dark shadow with red eyes."

Travis nodded. He looked as if he was about to cry again. Sal gave his shoulder a squeeze before getting up.

"I'm going to find a way to help. So no one else needs to get hurt. Including you."

>•<

"Todd!" Sal shouted, running up the street towards the redhead.

Todd turns around to face Sally when he eventually catches up with him.

"You were right!" He says breathlessly. "It was the red eyed demon!"

Todd looks at him for a moment with a saddened look in his eye.

"Told you." He said before turning his back to Sal and walking off.

"Please Neil let me in!" Sal said knocking on the door of Todd's bedroom.

"Maybe I'll let you in when you start being nicer."

Oh boy. Neil was in protective boyfriend mode.

"I'm sorry ok?!" Sal continued to shout. "I regret what I said I really do! Please Neil I really need to talk to Todd!"

There was a moment of silence then Sal heard them talking from behind the door. Then the door opened and there stood Todd. With a slightly disgruntled expression on his face.

"I forgive you. And I'm sorry too." He said.

Sal breathed out a sigh of relief and wrapped his arms round Todd in a hug that could've broken his ribs.

"Sally." He said.

"Yes?"

"Please get off me. I can't breath."

Sal released Todd from the hug.

"You were so right Todd. How on earth did you know?"

Neil looked as if he was about to say something but Todd had cut him off.

"2 years ago a group of dickheads in my class decided it would be 'funny' to torment me behind the school for being gay. I'm pretty sure they were going to try and get me to.... well never mind. They didn't get to that point because Travis had seen what they were trying to make me do and came over and beat the living daylights out of them."

"Fuck, really?"

"Yeah, Larry actually saw him doing that and thought he was beating up some innocent kids but once it clicked he started helping Travis beat them up too."

"That must've been quite a sight."

"It was."

Sal was quite shocked at what he was hearing but it still didn't seem a reason why Travis wouldn't do a similar thing to someone else 2 years later.

"Wait." Sally's train of thought was suddenly stopped. "You told Neil what happened?"

"Nope, I picked up Larry's phone by accident at the party and saw a text which told everything. It was from an unknown number so I couldn't tell who sent it. At first I thought it was a joke or a cruel trick but I decided to give show Larry anyway. Todd only confirmed that it wasn't untrue." Neil said.

Sally had actually forgotten about the text that Larry had mentioned weeks ago.

"Who'd you think sent that text?" He asked.

"Not sure." Neil replied. "It wasn't a number I recognised. You'll have to ask Larry about it."

>•<

Knock knock.

Sal stood outside Larry's apartment for approximately 30 seconds before he swung open the door.

"Sally Face!" He said enthusiastically

"Larry Face." Sal replied, smiling underneath his mask.

They went inside and sat on the couch.

"Did you tell Todd he was right?" Larry asked.

"Yeah, I was eventually able to get past Neil's defences. Can you show me that text you got at the party?"

"You mean this one?" Larry said holding up his phone.

The text read:
[Unknown Number] : Someone's done something to Sally. They've kissed him, gave him hickeys and they've stuck their hand down his boxers. All against his will. They might do it again. Please, keep him safe.

[Larry] : Who is this? How do you know?

[Unknown Number] : Just trust me. It happened.

[Larry] : Who did it? Who are you?

[Unknown Number] : I can't say.

[Larry] : Well then it's bullshit. Don't text me again.

"Todd was texting for me." Larry said. "I was a bit too emotional to do so."

"Do you recognise the number."

"Nope."

Sal let out a sigh.

"Hey there's no need to think about that now. Whoever it was it's obvious that they're nice and they care and don't want you to get hurt again."

"Yeah, but if they knew it happened they must've been there. And if they were then why didn't they stop it?"

"I don't know dude."

"..."

"Sal I can practically hear your thoughts right now, get your ass over here and give me a kiss."

Sal rolled his eyes but still lifted up his prosthetic and pecked his lips.

"I mean a proper kiss ya  s p o o n"

((Yes, I did that again))

Sally chuckled and leant back in to kiss Larry again. This time it was gentle and slow and Sally could feel all of his stress melt away as he wrapped his hands in Larry's hair.

And then he heard the door open.

He quickly jumped off of Larry and strapped his prosthetic back on to his face as Lisa walked into the apartment.

"Oh hello Sally!" She said cheerfully.

"H-hi Lisa."

Lisa ignored Sal's stutter and walked into the kitchen, leaving Sally with his head in his hands and Larry trying to hold in a laugh.
