Backstory: Ayla was born in the 1300's. Her family had a history of getting turned right after having kids. Ayla was no exception. Somehow at 18 Ayla gave birth to quintuplets. After that she was the talk of the century. It brought along unwanted attention from people like Klaus Mikaelson. Klaus turned Ayla right after she turned 20. After that he left her to raise her kids. They all got turned at 16 by Ayla. She didn't want them to make a mistake that would get attention from him. She now lives with her kids in Mystic Falls. Backstory: When her mom turned her she resented her mom for not letting her and her sisters choose whether they wanted it or not. She swore to herself that she would go on the animal diet. She couldn't bring herself to drink human blood. Plus her vervain situation was pretty easy to concur. Like Katherine she sipped a bit of vervain everyday to build up a tolerance. When they moved to Mystic Falls she had been happy that she could meet new friends. She never possibly thought that she would meet new vampires.
