I hear my phone ringing. With a groan, I grab the ringing phone pressing the answer button and putting it next to my ear my eyes still closed while doing so.
"(Y/n), get your ass up you can't come late today," I hear Samantha's voice from the other end.
"yeah yeah, I am getting up", I say with a smile.
"good, I'm excited, we are both going to the field trip. Those long nights of studying did come in handy, " she saids
As she continues to speak I start to get ready.
"Well, see you there then (Y/n)" she saids happily.
"see you," I say back.
•time skip•
Once I reach the school I could see Samantha waiting with the other students, outside the school for the bus. I tap Samantha's shoulder. She turns around smiling.
"There you are (y/n), just in time the bus is supposed to arrive soon"
"Great, so where are we going again?" I asked her
The only reason, I was going to this field trip was because of Samantha wanting me to go and the fact that I will not be going to my classes today.
"We are going to a forest, where we are going to learn fun facts about the forest and animals, only the ones who passed the final for biology can go remember?" Samantha responded
She loves animals and anything to do with nature, so of course she is excited.
"So, we are going to be doing a lot of walking?" I ask trying to make small talk.
"Yeah, that's why I told you to wear the old walking shoes that you have" she responds
"I mean I prefer doing this than going to my classes" I say rolling a rock under my shoe.
"Yeah, it's going to be fun even more because, I have you here with me"
Samantha holds my arm giggling to herself. I look at her smiling, she was a weird girl and I guess that's why we got along so well. She is my only friend.
"Oh, and don't worry, I got us food they told us to bring food so knowing you, I made extra", she said showing her hiking backpack almost the same size as her.
"Why you bring such a big backpack" I asked smiling.
"I always need to be prepared you know, what if we get lost or we need my survival kit?" She responds with a serious face.
"I mean sure, but don't complain about it being too heavy." I say in a teasing tone.
I see the school bus in the corner of the street.
"Well, here it comes," I say as I point towards the bus. Before Samantha can reply.
Everyone gets on the bus, me and Samantha in the front of the bus to get away from the others who all sat in the back. The bus starts to drive leaving behind the school building. The ride was quite long, Sam ended falling asleep her head resting on my shoulder. I was listening to music, watching as the buildings disappear being replaced by the trees. I let my mind wonder.
Soon the bus stops making Sam wake up. We all get out the bus following our teacher as she leads the way to a small building. Once there, a guy comes out.
"We have been waiting for you all, my name is Kevin and I am going to be your tour guide guy, I know this forest so have no worries on getting lost, but don't stay behind or start wandering around," he saids with a wink towards the group of girls.
We start to walk slowly, me and Sam walking at the end of the big group of students.
"Ooooh bitch Issa deer, it's so cute" I hear Samantha say
I turn to where she is pointing to see the cutest deer. Sam starts to waddle towards the deer.
"Sam come back we don't want to be left behind." I say
But it's too late she is off going towards it but the deer starts to walk away before she reaches it. I groan and start to go after Sam I couldn't let her go off by herself. Looking back I still see the group.
"Okay, I am going to grab her drag her back quickly and everything is going to be okay," I say to myself
I grab Sam's hand dragging her back.
"Wait, no (Y/n) the deer, I need to pet, I need to touch" she saids pulling away to grab her camera
"No, you shouldn't go up to a wild animal trying to pet them, let's go before we get lost," I said
"Okay okay, but at least a picture" she saids positioning her self to take her picture.
Suddenly the deer looks up its ears moving, it suddenly runs at full speed away from us.
"Nooooo, the deer" Sam saids unable to get enough pictures of it.
I look back to the dirt path trying to find the group but, they were nowhere to be seen.
"Fuck, I can't see them anymore," I say grabbing Samantha.
"What?" Sam asked
She starts looking around like a mad girl. When we reach the last place they were.
"This is my fault, I am sorry (Y/n)" she saids looking down.
"Of course it's your fault but, that doesn't matter anymore, we have to find them, come on let's follow the path we will catch up to them in no time," I say
We start to walk following the dirt path. We suddenly hear screaming making both of us stop.
"What was that?" Asked Sam
"I don't know but, I think it was the group, because who else is here but animals," I said
"Maybe someone got hurt, hurry let go, I got my first aid kit" Sam saids.
She begins to run, I had a bad feeling about all of this, but I continued to follow her.
