"Was it you?!" Kagami marched up to Marinette. Marinette turned and glared at her.
"Was it me that did what?!" She asked.
"That kissed Adrien?" Kagami folded her arms. "Don't lie to me, little girl."
"First of all, I'm not little. You're just a few months older than me," Marinette informed. "Second of all, you actually think I would be able to master up some courage to go and kiss Adrien?!"
She's right, Kagami realized. I've been worrying that it was her for nothing. Of course it wouldn't be her. She couldn't even tell Adrien that she liked him.
"But someone is a liar," Marinette then added. "You! You said you didn't like Adrien, yet you go and date him? You liar!"
Kagami smirked. "So what? I told you that if you didn't tell Adrien you liked him, some other girl would beat you to it."
"Yeah, but I didn't know you were talking about yourself," plus I was going to confess but I was already too late!
"Well, it's not my problem. You just weren't fast enough," Kagami shrugged. "Oh, and plus... Keep away from Adrien, and stop making him feel so down." Then she turned and walk away.
Marinette stood there in silence. She wanted to cry, to go and tell Adrien she liked him without anything standing in her way. She wanted to beat Kagami up.
But most of all, she wanted Adrien to break up with Kagami and come to her.
She turned also, and walked inside class, where she was met with so many eyes, each telling her she was late. But one pair of eyes told her something different.
I need to talk with you.
Marinette walked past Adrien and sat down next to Alya.
"Just saying, I don't think you should be mad at Adrien just because of something Kagami did," Alya suddenly said.
"What?" Marinette turned to her.
"I saw Kagami talking to you while I was heading to class," Alya explained. "At first I thought you two were having a fight, but there was no yelling or anything, so I thought it was fine. But, I've seen you look at her in complete hatred."
Wow, Alya gets me so much. Marinette looked away. "I'll tell you after school," she muttered.
Alya nodded, and turned to the front to listen to the teacher that had just walked in.
-
"Hey Marinette." Marinette stopped and turned to see Adrien. She wanted to run, but having to remember what Alya said earlier made her stay.
"Look, I'm not even going to..."
"Just say what you want to say, " Mariette quickly interrupted. "I'm finally ready to listen."
"Really?" Adrien looked happy. "I- okay. Well, I just wanted to ask why you were so mad at me."
"You don't need to know," Marinette looked away. "Anything else?"
"I... Wanna hang out today?" Adrien asked excitedly, as if this was going to be a dream come true if Marinette said yes.
"Well... Sure, I was going to hang out with Alya, but you can come along," Marinette smiled, but it didn't last long. It quickly faded once Kagami appeared.
"What are you two talking about?" She asked. "I heard hangout. Can I hang out as well?"
"Sure," Adrien said.
Mariette tried not to show her anger. "Well, I'll be leaving." She stomped away.
"M- Marinette?" Adrien looked confused at what had just happened, while Kagami just smiled, knowing the reason.
Grr, at first I thought Chloe would be the one between me and Adrien. I didn't expect it to be Kagami, a girl I hardly know. Marinette kicked a rock once she stepped out of the school.
"Hey Mariette, wait," Alya called out. She ran over to Marinette. "Why didn't you wait for me? Remember you still have to tell me what's bothering you."
"Ah, sorry, I didn't remember," Mariette sighed. She looked back and saw as Adrien, Nino and Kagami stepped out of the school.
I'll get you back, Kagami, just wait and see.
