Family (Souji Okita x Wife! Reader)

It was a beautiful night.
The place where the Shinsengumi were staying was as crazy as ever, with men coming in and out of patrol.
You had just finished bathing and were currently drying your (h/c) hair with a towel when suddenly a small cry broke thru the quiet of your bedroom. With a gentle sigh, you set your towel down and rose to tend the baby in the basket. Before you could stand up, a hand gently grabbed your wrist and held you there. I'll go tend to him (Y/N) chan. Your husband of three years, Souji Okita had said, his voice still groggy from sleep. Before you could protest, he had risen and started to walk over to the now crying bundle of joy in the basket. You smiled softly at him and then returned to drying your hair. Souji bent down and gently lifted the crying baby boy into his arms. Shhh.....Sousuke it's all right Papa is right here. Said Souji with a small smile while gently rocking the boy. After a few minutes past, the crying had finally ceased and the baby boy was staring intently at his Father. Souji smiled and admired the baby. He looked just like you. He had your (h/c) hair and almost all of your facial features. Souji had sometimes wondered if this was his son at all because of him not having any of his features but he quickly took that back when he found out that his son had inherited is green, cat-like eyes. Souji would never admit this out loud but he almost cried that day. When he first saw them he sat on the futon staring into his son's eyes for what was hours. He was so happy. You finished drying your hair and watched your husband staring and smiling at your son. You smiled before saying, Souji why don't you bring him over here and we can admire him together. Souji nodded his head gently, not taking his eyes of his son for a single moment, before walking over to you on the futon and sitting next to you. You gently laid your head on his shoulder and smiled while looking at the baby in his arms. A few moments of content silence went by before Souji broke it. I don't think I say this enough to you (Y/N) chan but thank you. You smiled and closed your eyes. Thankful for what Souji? You asked gently. For not giving up on a man like me and for blessing me with the most perfect child in the world. Souji replied finally breaking his eyes away from his son to look at you. You raised your head and looked him I. Thank you Souji for loving me and letting me have your son. You replied smiling lovingly at him. I love you (Y/N) chan. Souji said before kissing you gently on the lips. After the kiss, you replied with,  I love you Souji more than anything in this world besides our son of course. Souji smiled and looked back at his son. You wouldn't trade this for the world. You thought, placing your head back on his shoulder.
