3. The volturi.

RENESMEE'S POV.

I sat next to my dad frozen in shock. What! The volturi! What have we done wrong?! The rest of the family came in and all looked worried. I was glad jake wasn't here otherwise he would be worrying like mad! I held my mums hand and aunt alice was the first to speak;

"They'll be here in exactly a month." I had a question but I was a little afraid to hear the answer. I said it anyway.

"Why are they coming?" I looked at aunt alice but it was dad who answered.

"They think that," he paused for a moment. I was guessing it had something to do with me. "Nessie, love. We found out that when you are fully grown, you will gain another power. Now, we do not know what these are but apparently the Volturi do." He stopped again whilst I thought this through. "They want you..." He finally whispered. Everyone was looking at me. I said nothing. Just thinking.

At that precise moment, Jake walked in. He looked happy but when he saw all of the pain on our faces he stopped in his tracks.

JAKES POV.

Everyone's face was as if someone had died! There goes my good mood.

"What. What happened?" I immediately thought of the Volturi but then I thought it would be a bit far stretched. Alice, the tiny one, was the one to explain.

"The volturi are coming for all of us as they want Nessie. They will kill all of us because they know Nessie will never join with her family alive." Ness looked up at me. She looked worried, but, knowing her, she would be worried for everyone else not for her. I kept looking at ness. No! No! They could not take my Nessie! When I spoke I was quiet,

"So we fight." I said it as a statement not a question. Someone, Emmett maybe, was about to say something. But no body was listening. Ness had just collapsed. I ran over and caught her head before it hit the floor. The others were crowded around her in and instant. In the blink of an eye, Edward had ness in his arms and was running towards the main house. I ran after them and got to the house after them. I found Carlisle, Edward and bells up in Carlisle's office.

"What happened?" I yelled. Carlisle frowned. When I looked at Nessie I realised she looked taller than an hour ago. Her hair was darker. I knew what this meant. Edward nodded to confirm my suspicion.

"Nessie's body couldn't deal with the changes that are happening to her. She will now be fully grown in an hour." Carlisle explained.

An hour passed and Nessie was taller and looked more like an adult now. Earlier Nessie looked slightly younger than me but now she looked the same age. Suddenly, Nessie's eyes snapped open.
