I sighed as I looked out the window, it's such a wonderful day in Paris today. If only I could go outside and watch the sunset over the Eiffel Tower like I used to...
The doorbell suddenly rang.
"What was I thinking about?" I said to myself as got off my chair, grabbed my cane, and made my way towards the door.
I wonder who it could be at this hour?
I opened the door and was greeted with a kiss on both cheeks and the smell of roses.
"France! I've missed you so much! I haven't seen you in so long, you need to visit more often!" I said to him as he laughed and put his arm around a girl.
"But I was here just yesterday, and I have someone I want you to meet!" I then looked over at the girl next to him and smiled.
"Who's this jeune beauté?"
"This is Adele, Adele this is my mother, (y/n)." She smiled at me, her long strawberry blond hair fell down her shoulders as her aqua blue eyes sparkled from the light inside my house. I then looked over at France in pride. His beautiful blond wavy hair laid on his shoulders as his royal blue eyes looked into my (e/c) in happiness as I let them inside.
"So Adele, how did you meet France?" I asked them as I led them into the living room.
"I met him on my way to work actually, he just came up to me, gave me a rose, and asked for my number. And then things went on from there and here I am!" She said happily.
"That sounds just like him, when he was younger he used to bring home a different girl every day, I remember it like it was yesterday!" I said to her excitedly while France sighed.
"Mère, that began this year, when I was younger I used to bring England over, remember?"
England.....
"Yes?" I questioned him while he sighed with a smile on his face.
"I'll tell you later."
"Alright, oh, do you want to eat dinner here?"
Adele looked at France and he said yes. I then began to make dinner.
. . . Time Skip. . . When . . . She. . . Leaves. . .
I sat on the balcony as I watched Adele get into her car and leave, knowing that I'm probably never going to see her again.
I then felt a hand on my shoulder.
"What's wrong mère?" France asked me as he sat down next to me.
"When are you going to bring Joan back over? It's been an awfully long time since I've seen the poor thing." France smiled sadly at me as he then looked over the balcony, admiring the beauty of Paris. All of the lights glowing while people bustled through the streets, the Eiffel Tower shining in all its glory. The most beautiful thing here though is the rose bush planted in front of my house, right here I can get the best view of it. It's my most prized possession, that was my birthday present from France when he was just learning how to plant. He was so excited when I saw it and told him how much I loved it.
"Soon, mère... soon." France said as a lone tear fell from his eyes. I hugged him instantly and held him close to me, wondering how I could have forgotten.
"I'm so sorry, France! I promise I'll stay as long as I can!" I said to him as tears started to fall from my own face, knowing that my time is limited.
A week later a funeral was hosted for Mrs. (f/n) (m/n) Bonnefoy.
