BLOOD BOUND [NOVELETTE-COMPLETED]

CHAPTER 13

Screams from the outside started to grow louder and louder. Ghouls from the academy went out to send chaos.

The Union responded with Reddeline's leadership. They fought with determination. They fought with strategy but they clearly outnumbered.

"Alpha A, lead the groups! Make sure to save as much life as you can! Do not die!"

They parted.

From afar there was fire, ghouls had made sure to create as much flame as possible to blind them with what's going on.

Reddeline creased her forehead and motioned her hand up, palm facing the moon. "Come to me, my children." The small chirping sound became louder to Reddeline's ears. Her babies are using sound waves and echoes to find her, their master.

It didn't take long for the bats to echo locate her. Soon enough her children is whirling around her like a storm, she was the eye. She's like a typhoon ready to put disaster to those she'll be walking across with.

"Scary."

She looked at the location of the voice. It's not because she was trying to figure out who it is but she was shock to find out that her younger daughter is present.

"They are bugging me nonstop, I realized they were with me when I'm already here. Hellisha." Morraine said to her mom to spare her ears. They are still in the middle of a war.

"They?" Red's eyes grew wider.

"Shit." Morraine kicked one tree that was about to hit them. Looks like the ghouls are throwing things now. How convenient for them. "The Casanova twins planned this—those two and Sunny." She said while raising her hand just like what Reddeline did.

A loud raspy signature call of caw and kraa started to appear.

"What a show." Sunny chuckled while looking at her mother and sister calling their children.

Below her is her best friend, a hybrid cross of male lion, and female tigress—a Liger. Beast's head has a shape of lioness' yet faint stripes. The older model had short limbs. Beast is a modified Liger with metal armour. His limbs are 4 feet long. He has a slender yet toned structure which makes him a useful runner. His strong body makes him ideal for battle, to think that this Liger is smart, as well.

She patted beasts head. "Shall we save some lives today, Beast?" Beast answered with a short growl. "Don't die people. You need to treat me for a meal." Sunny winked at her mom and sister before disappearing to the smoke.

Morraine's crows started to appear and made a circling flight on top of her.

Red and her looked at each other, they both nodded. The shifted their gaze to their own babies and whispered, "Time to hunt."

The bats and the crows dispersed, creating shadows to the blood red light coming from the blood moon.

Stephanie flipped her Imarku 10 inch butcher knives she held with both hands with grace.

Her blade is already stained with blood.

She looked at the ghouls with her intense blue eyes with fangs at full show. She snarled at them.

She smiled at them in her charming manner. "I can't believe that you ghouls think you can handle a pure blood." She flipped her butcher knives once more. "A Royalty at that matter." She was chuckling when she caught the knives mid-air. She disappeared in the ghouls eyes. "Who wants to die next?"

The ghouls shifted their gaze here and there. Stephanie is nowhere seen but they can hear her voice echoing.

"You go." She appeared at one feathered ghoul and slashed through its wings and nape. The ghoul turned into black smoke. Stephanie disappeared again. "You, too." She appeared to slash another before disappearing once more.

The door was locked so Mikaela poured a potion to the door knob. It didn't take long. It melted.

She kicked through the door, opening it.

The smell almost made her throw up. She faced sideways and wrinkled her nose. She fished out a gas mask out of her doctor's gown and attached it on her face. The stinky smell subsided a little.

She stepped into the room to find jars of organs with chemical cocktails solutions. What makes even the strong hearted Mikaela who had done hundreds of surgery in her 29 years of existence is that they are not human organs.

What she sees are organs from different species, some she haven't encountered before. She is used with vampires since her best friend is a vampire but these containers in front of her contain a lot more.

Each jar have codes in them.

She skimmed through a huge amount of lateral file cabinets once side and matched the codes. She gulped a lump of saliva in her throat. "Elves, vampires, mermaids, dwarfs, gargoyles—and ghouls?" She heard something.

She walked, passing thought the jars. There was another noise. It was just a book shelf occupying the wall.

But she can't be wrong. She heard something. She jumped back a little when she heard it again.

She started knocking through the walls and even at the book shelves. Nothing happened. Not until she decided to pull books from the shelves.

She was about to give up after throwing the last book but nothing happens. But behind that last book at the far left, just in the middle when you look at it vertically, there's a finger print scanner. "Shit." She could melt it but finger scanners have alarms when forcefully tried to open.

So instead of doing so, she grabbed the black light from the other pocket and lighted up the room. She looked through the desk. It's good thing she wore medical gloves.

She smiled. She took a tape from the desk and put it into the glass on the desk. She made sure have the finger print stick to it.

She went back to the finger scanner with a winning smile. She put the tape on the scanner putting pressure with her cover thumb. The weight triggered the scanner to scan.

The shelves open by sliding to the right. Mikaela's smile disappeared. Behind those doors are chambers.

She saw half dead bodies on the floor. One elf was knocking through the metal frame of her chamber with her head. Her body was cut in half. That elf is bleeding green, her intestines falling behind her as she cries silently.

The elf looked at her and a small smile appeared on the elf's face. "Save us." Mikaela lip read.

She heard a bunch of silent cries. That elf just died.
