1.Be happy

"Hey (y/n), could you help me with something?" Liz came up to me while I was studying in the school library. "Sure, what's up?" I look up at her from my laptop. Liz was the last one to join our group and from the beginning all of us knew that she laid her eyes on Peter. She never admitted it, but the way she looked at him or tried to find excuses to touch him told everything. Something made me mad about the fact that she was all over him the whole time but I still liked her as a friend. She helped me with a lot, school, boys and so much more. She was always there for me and wanted the best for me and I wanted the same for her.

"So, you know prom's soon and I really like Peter", my eyes widen, "Oh, really?" I ask acting as if I don't know already. "Yes and..uhm..I want to ask him if he'd be my date, but I don't know how or when. You're his best friend, please help me." She looks at me with puppy dog eyes. Usually I and Peter go to prom and other parties together, not as dates, but as friends. I wouldn't know who to go with or what to do there without my best friend, but again, I wanted Liz to be happy so I agreed to help her. "Oh my god, thank you so much (y/n)!" she hugged me and ran out to class happily.

At lunch we all sit together. MJ and Liz are talking and Ned's playing with his Lego Darth Vader. Peter isn't there yet and after ten minutes I start wondering where he is. With that he suddenly is behind me and hugs me. His arms around me always make me feel safe. After that he does his handshake with Ned and greets the other girls. He sits down next to me and MJ immediatly looks at him curious: "Where were you Parker?" She asks him as if he's a criminal and she's the detective asking him about his crime. "Erm, I had to talk with mr. Stark." He answered a little tense. "You and your internship." I say as I shake my head and laugh. Then my phone rings. It's a message from Liz:

She looks up to me and nods nervously. "Hey Peter", she starts and Peter looks at her: "Yeah?" he asks curious. "I-You know prom's soon and I wanted to ask you if you'd like to...uhhm...maybe go with me?", Liz looks down to her lap and bites her lip expecting to get rejected. "Yea, sure" Peter smiles at her, she smiles back in relieve. „Really? Great!" She says joyful. She mouths a "thank you" to me and I fake smile at her. Something inside me was hoping that he'd say no. But why? I thought to myself. Be happy for your friends. That's all I could think of for the rest of the day. Be happy.

After school Ned comes up to me while I was walking out of class:"(Y/n)! Wait!" I hear him shout behind me. I stop and turn around."Hey Ned", I say, accidently giving him a kind of sad smile, "Everything fine?" I ask him. "Everything's fine with me. What about you though? You didn't really look good after lunch." He asks me with a worried look on his face. It's true. My stomach twisted everytime I thought about Peter and Liz going to prom together, but I thought I was able to hide my emotions. Apparently not. "All good with me Ned, don't know what you mean." I say, obviously lying. "Are you sure?" Ned asks now more curious than worried. "Yes Ned. Everything's great." I say coming of more passive aggresive than I wanted. I see the slightly hurt look on Ned's face and immediatly feel like an asshole. He just wants to help and I almost yell at him. I'm an idiot. "I'm sorry Ned, I'm just stressing a bit about prom. Since Peter has a date now, I don't know who to go with." Ned looked at me confused. "You know you can just come with me and MJ right?" Ned offered. I was way to busy thinking about how Peter and Liz would be dancing together, his hands on her hips, face to face so close to each other. My heart started racing. "Thank you Ned." I snapped out of my thoughts quickly and smiled at him. "We'll be meeting at MJ's house an hour before prom." He said looking way happier. "Alright, see you there on friday." I say as I wave a goodbye at him and go home.
