Chanyeol thought about what to give his baby more than his last present for their anniversary. It was their first year and Chanyeol was a little bit too excited for his anniversary with his beloved boyfriend Sehun.
Sehun, on the other hand, was busy and Chanyeol knew that. Since Sehun got a new job 3 months ago, they barely had time for eachother and if they had a day off the work they were just talking or resting.
But no matter how things went these past 3 months, Chanyeol still hoped.
He hoped, that today they could spend their day together.
It was 4PM and Chanyeol just finished styling himself.
He wanted to look perfect today. Perfect for his day with Sehun. The fact that today it was exactly 1 year ago they got together made him extremely happy and if he could, he would just wake Sehun up out of joy.
He looked on the couch and saw the younger sleeping peacefully. Chanyeol couldn't help himself but adore the sight of his small angel sleeping. He smiled to himself and quietly got out of the door, trying not to wake up the younger.
As he closed the door behind him, he made himself on the way to his car, his heart beating fast just of the thought how Sehun would react. As he got in the car, he put the seat belt on and slowly drove off.
It was a quick ride, it took him 10 minutes to the jewelery store.
As he got out of his car and stood right before the jewelery store, he breathed out heavily and moved inside.
He walked towards the cashier and smiled fondly.
"I'm here to pick up a ring reserved for Park Chanyeol."
The cashier just nodded and took out a key, which he used to open a medium-sized box that inhaled a smaller box, a box for rings to be exact.
He put the ring into a small bag which he handed to Chanyeol.
"That will be $2400, please."
Chanyeol just nodded and took out the money out of his pocket as he handed it to the cashier.
After that, Chanyeol left with a wide smile on his lips. He got out of the store and started walking towards his car while thinking about Sehun's reaction to his surprise.
As soon as he arrived infront of his car, he sat in the driver seat and put the bag with the ring carefully on the seat next to him.
He drove off to pick up the bunch of roses for his beloved one too, and excited as he was, he made himself on the way home back to Sehun.
For Chanyeol, those 5 minutes were as long as 30 years. He was nervous. Nervous because he didn't know, how Sehun will react, even thought he imagined Sehun's reaction very often today. After a few more meters, Chanyeol finally saw his house.
He parked right infront of it, took the bunch of roses and the bag inhaling the ring in it. Chanyeol gulped nervously as he took out the keys and slowly opened the door. He got in and closed after him.
"Baby, I'm home."
He was expecting an answer, but all that was heard was silence.
"Baby?"
And again, no one answered him.
He slowly walked towards the kitchen and put the things he bought for the younger on the table, as he saw a note on the fridge. He quickly moved infront of the fridge, took the note off it and read it.
"Channie, I had to go to work. My chef called me and it was urgent, since the person who was supposed to work today is sick.. sorry love
I love you

Chanyeol didn't knew what to say. He suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest, like someone would stab a thousand knives right through his heart.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to cry.
