Chapter 2- My First Day

I woke to darkness and the smell of sweat and filth, blocking my nostrils. I blinked a couple times, trying to get used to the bright white fluorescent lights. I winced, remembering what happened. I checked my head, and felt a bump. I brought my hand back and gasped. My hand was clean.

I checked the rest of me. A couple bruises and cuts but otherwise fine. I looked around the room and saw white. Everything was white. From the carpet, to the walls and dresser, even the bed was white. I saw a glass of water on the bedside table and instantly felt how parched my mouth was. I reached for it, but thought better as they may have drugged it. I felt along the underside of the table, hoping for a hidden knife or maybe even used gum. I swore when there was nothing. I hopped out of bed and the world spun. I fell to the floor, but realized something. I felt under the bed. Nothing. I ran to the dresser and looked through every draw, doing the same for the table. Absolutely nothing. I put my hands on my head and breathing heavily, tried to compose my mind. After what felt like eternity my mind was clear and my breathing even. I ran to the doorknob, yanking on it. Once, twice three times. But it wouldn't budge. I screamed, pounding on the door, hoping for someone to hear my pleas. I heard shouting from outside my room, in the corridor. They bounced and echoed off the walls, giving grief to my ears. The door slammed open, hitting the wall with a loud BANG! I winced, and when I saw it was him I crept towards the corner. "Now that you're awake, would you please SHUT UP!" he roared taking a step towards me. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you mad I just- I just want to go home", I cried. He smile, "you are home."

He left soon after that, asking a young girl to bring me some dinner. She came in and bowed her head, gave me the tray and left, softly shutting the door behind her. I looked at the tray, and retched. Of course nothing came out. On the tray there was a familiar sight, a bottle of water, an apple and a substance that looked like pasta with powder in it. Powder to keep me weak, and to make me sleepy. The water looked pale yellow, by my guess is there's a liquid to make me heal quicker than average. None the less, I still ate and drank knowing that I may not be getting food for a while. After that I settled into my bed, hoping for a good night's sleep. I soon fell asleep, a night long dreamless sleep.
