Darkest before the Light

It all seems like a distant nightmare almost, though I'm used to it by now.

Welcoming the pain into my life has grown easier, it proves that all of this is real, that everything that has and will happen to me is all real.The good, the bad, the worst even. My life has been getting better the past few months, after my...accident, things changed for the better...or worse.

I might as well tell my story.

It was the first day of 11th grade, nothing to be happy about.

"Welcome back to hell, little shit."

Welcomed his bully, Ryan, along with a swift punch to the gut.

Andrew looked up from where he laid on the floor and made the mistake of making eye contact with Ryan.

Andrew gasped when he felt the wind get knocked out of him and a sharp pain in his stomach as Ryan gave a strong kick to it.

"Who the fuck said that you could look at me bitch?!" Ryan growled at andrew.

Andrew just stayed silent and averted his gaze, talking never helped.

The first bell rang and the hallways started quickly clearing as the other students went to their classes. Ryan and his gang picked up their things from where they set it down before they started hell upon andrew.

As they started to leave, Dante stayed back and looked at Andrew with sympathy.

Dante isn't like the others, he never calls Andrew rude names and he doesn't hurt him too much when they're kicking his ass. And he always has a look of guilt and regret in his eyes every time Andrew gets his daily ass beating.

"Come on Dante, get away from that piece of shit fag. You might get a disease from being too close to him," Blake called out with a look of disgust on his face.

Dante gave one last glance back at him before catching up with his friends and following behind Ryan.

Andrew tried to sit up but winced in pain and laid back on the floor. He laid there for what felt like hours before he started to drift into unconsciousness.

When his eyes closed he felt himself being lifted up before he blacked out.
