Janay's POV

moving from New York to Virginia was like.. like moving from Earth to Mars. the worst decision my mother has ever made and I don't think I'll ever forgive her for it.

"Janay come on we're going to meet the neighbors!"

"why do you I need to meet them? I'm only 17"

"they have a son your age that goes to your school and can be a potential friend of yours now hurry up!"

"UUUHHH" I yelled into my pillow and rolled out of my bed. 'this change will be good for you' 'aren't you tired of the city?' blah blah blah my mom and step dad tried to convince me that this move was good for me but I don't see anything good about moving your 17 year old daughter away from her crush, her best friends and her childhood right before her senior year of high school.

I took my sweet time putting on my black converse and walking downstairs to meet my mom, step dad and obnoxious little brother at the front door.

"please put a smile on your face and drop the attitude" my mom snipped at me before checking her hair in the mirror and opening the front door. Everyone walked onto the side walk and up the neighbors walk way when I crossed the yard.

"JANAY!" my mom hissed.

"what?"

"don't you dare do that ever again, understand?"

"oh come on they're our next door neighbors, why would I waste time walking down our driveway to go up theirs?"

"enough." my step dad cut into our soon to be argument.

we knocked on the door and waited for an answer, "hello!" the wife (I guess) answered the door. her accent was different, definitely not American, "come in please!"

we shuffled into their front door and stood awkwardly in the area between the front door and the stairs. "I'm Amy, my husbands at work right now and this is our son michael." she smiled pleasantly as her son walked down the stairs on cue, staring at his phone.

he glanced up for a second scanning my whole family before his eyes met mine.

"Hi michael, I'm Debra, this is Richard my husband, my son Xavier and my daughter Janay."

I stared at Michael and he stared back. He muttered a quick, "sup" before he turned and walked back upstairs to his room. green hair, eyebrow piercing? seriously mom a potential friend of mine? yeah right.

His mom sighed and shook her head, "sorry he's just a little.. anti social" she chuckled.

"oh trust me I understand" my mom winked at her and they walked into the kitchen laughing.

My stepdad and little brother followed behind when Amy called out that I could go upstairs and talk to michael. um no. I sat on the bottom on the stairs playing with my shoe laces.

"where you from?" a voice startled me. I turned around to see the green haired boy that I shortly found out was big time pizza enthusiast, michael clifford sitting to my left on the stairs.

alright, short start but the ideas I have for this story is incredible okay? okay

this should be really interesting considering I'm not a michael girl and I feel like i barely know shh about him
