"Lauren, wait!" someone yells behind me. School is out, it's been a long day, the bus is waiting, but for her I'll wait forever. "Hey, Camila" I smile. "Let me give you a ride" she says. How can I say no? "Thanks that'll be awesome" I say. We walk to her car, she even opens the door for me. "Why are you taking the bus by the way?" she asks. "I'm grounded" I say. "Did your parents find out you skipped school?" she asks. "Yeah. Chris told them" I roll my eyes. "He's such a jerk. I wish I could just punch him in the face" Camila says. "Relax Camz" I laugh. "So no friends, huh?" "Jip. I'm not allowed to see anyone after school" I sigh. "And what if you need help catching up on the work you missed?" Camila smirks. I like where she's going. "Sneaky, Cabello. But not a bad idea at all" I think. "Do you want me to help you catch up then?" Camila asks, quickly glancing at me and back to the road. "I would very much like that" I laugh. "I'll have to tell my mom first" I say taking out my phone. I quickly type a message explaining that I need help. As if. My mom actually thinks it's a good idea. She fell for it. "So, is there a lot to catch up on?" I smirk. Camila smiles.
About a minute later we park in front of my house. Taylor is already home, Chris has practice. Thank you Jesus. "Hey Tay" Camila says on entering. "Hi Camila. Hi Lauren. Lauren aren't you grounded?" "Camila is here to catch me up on the work I missed" I say. "Oh" she says.
We head up to my room, I quickly grab two muffins from the kitchen table. Camila is always hungry. "Oh my God! This is amazing" Camila stuffs her face with chocolate muffin. "Thanks" I say. "You made these?" she asks taking another bite and groaning. Her eyes roll into the back of her head. Oh my God. "Mmm" she says. "I could rub this thing all over my face" she says. "That's not weird at all" I laugh. "I think I just had a food orgasm" she laughs. "Here" I give her mine as well. Her eyes widen and she licks her lips. "Do you like seeing me orgasm?" she says with a serious face. "W-what? Oh God, no please, no. Why does she do this? She bursts out laughing. Laughing so hard she rolls of the bed and falls on her butt, the muffin, no matter what, unharmed. I laugh. She gets up and sits back down. "I'll forgive you because you gave me muffins" she says, stuffing her face again. "I also gave you a banana" I say. "That doesn't count. It's a banana. It was basically meant to be" she says all serious. I shake my head while smiling at her exaggerated faces she pulls as she eats. "Mmm, that was delicious" she says laying on the bed rubbing her tummy.
"Lauren" she says. I look at her already looking at me. "We need to address the elephant in the room" she says. "I hate that saying" I say. "Okay, then let's address the whale in the bathtub" she says. "You make no sense, but I like it better" I laugh. She smiles warmly. "Lauren, about what you said. The crush thing. I've never been in a relationship or really liked someone. I was thinking that-" she starts but I cut her off. "I'm sorry Camila. I don't expect you to like me back" I say. That is true. I don't expect her to like me back. She wasn't even supposed to know. "As I was saying. I was thinking that maybe I could try it. With you, I mean. If it's go to be someone, I'd much rather have it be you. You're already my first kiss" she blushes "Let's just take it slow" she says. "But, Camila you don't like me. I don't want to get hurt and I don't want to hurt you. I promised I wouldn't do that" I say. "Didn't you listen? I said I've never really liked someone, meaning I might have a little. When we talked about crushes I said that I have never liked a boy. I never said I didn't like a girl. Lauren, come on. I asked you to kiss me for a reason. I've liked you for a while" she says.
Holy shit.
Even though that explanation was all over the place, I only needed to hear that last part. "Really?" I ask. "Yes, I had no idea that I was your crush though" she giggles. I smile. This is actually happening. She scoots closer to me, I hug her as tight as I can. "You're gonna break my ribs" she laughs. I let go of her and just look into her chocolate brown eyes. She looks into mine too until her eyes shoot up behind me. "What's that?" she asks.
I look behind me. "Oh, that. I felt like painting yesterday" I said. "That's good right? You haven't painted in a while" Camila says. "Yeah" I say looking into her eyes again. "I'm so happy that I'm your crush" she blushes. She's so fucking adorable. I lean closer and place a gentle kiss on her forehead. She blushes even more, making me blush too. We just cuddle for a little while until Camila breaks the silence.
"I should probably get going. Won't your parents be home soon?" she says. "Yeah, unfortunately" I sigh. She giggles. "You'll see me again tomorrow" she says. "I can't wait" I smile. I walk her out to say goodbye, she gets in her car and I close the door for her. "Can- can I have a goodbye kiss? I've always wanted one of those" she says. I smile at how flustered she gets. I stick my head in through the open window between us, placing a quick kiss on her lips. "Bye Camz" "Bye Lolo" she says before starting the engine. I watch her drive away until I can barely see her car. I smile to myself before heading inside. I really like that girl and she doesn't make it hard to like her either.
