Chapter Nine
Kiahah dropped the twins off with Naya for the weekend. Naya has been trying to keep Dwayne from coming to her house because she knew if he saw the twins, he would tell her brother. Even though Kiahah was passive when she was with her brother that does not mean she is passive now. Children will change anyone, and considering he told her to get an abortion, Naya doubts that Kiahah would welcome her brother with open arms.
"TeeTee Nala," little DeShawn whispered while tugging on Naya's pant leg. She looked down and could not fathom how adorable he was with this thumb in his mouth and his other hand extended for her to pick him up. She flashed him a big smile before reaching down and placing him on her hip. She grabbed DeShawnie's hand and led them in her house and sat them down on the couch. Shawn looks nervous while Shawnie starts babbling away, most of which is incomprehensible. She just answered her accordingly and smiled whenever Shawnie would stop just to check to see if Shawn was comfortable.
Four Hours Later
Naya had put the twins to bed, taken her shower and just about settled into bed when her phone started buzzing. Rolling her eyes, she assumed it was Dwayne calling to complain, but instead it was Kiahah.
"Hello," Naya answered.
"Hey, I was just calling to make sure the twins didn't give you any trouble and to see if they were easy to put down. Sometimes they can be a little difficult,"
"No, they were really fine. We just played a little and I fed them dinner and they went to sleep with no problem,"
"I really want to thank you for not telling Shawn. I know how hard it has to be to keep a secret like this from him, but you have to understand how difficult this entire process has been for me and I just cannot afford him attempting to ruin it. Plus, he's with Tallah and I don't need to be the reason they have problems,"
"I understand. I can't really blame you. I just wish he could meet them; he was really broke up about the whole abortion thing, but I'm not supposed to know, but Dwayne told me. I was gonna spazz on him and shit but I promised Dwayne I wouldn't say anything, so I didn't,"
"Wassup with you and Dwayne anyway? Because you've brought him up in every conversation we've had this week,"
"Whaaaaaaat? I have not," Naya says in a high pitched tone.
"But you have. You know I notice everything, so spill it"
"Okay, so he and I may be dating. We are together but no one knows really. It's kinda personal and private,"
"Well, I'm happy for you. Y'all really deserve each other. I'm surprised it took him this long to let you know he wanted you. It was stupid obvious,"
"Really? I did-," Naya was interrupted by an incoming call from Dwayne, "speaking of the devil,"
"Talk to your boy. I'll call tomorrow and check on the twins again,"
"Okay, goodnight," responding accordingly, Kiahah ended the phone call and Naya answered Dwyane, "hey,"
"Hey? I haven't talked to your stubborn ass all day because you've been 'busy' and all I get is a fucking 'hey'?"
Naya decided to mess with him a little, "hey baby?"
"Baby? Maybe you should be saying that to the nigga you spent the whole day with," Naya laughed since she literally spent the day with two babies.
"Boy, if you don't get out of your feelings. I was busy. I had a couple of things to handle and I could not talk, so are you gonna keep acting like a lil bitch or are you gonna talk to me about your day?"
