Ending
Hyunjin waited for Mia at the convenience store by their school. It was everyone's favorite place to hang out, so maybe talking about a relationship wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do there, but who cared at this point?
Mia walked to the store slowly, her knees were shaky, so it was hard to keep calm, on top of that, the first ice had decided to decorate the pavement which leads to her not being able to walk faster anyway.
Mia didn't know what she was supposed to expect from the conversation she was about to have with Hyunjin. Was this going to be the end of everything?
Are they going to make up? Is he forgiving her?The girl slowly walked up the small hill and on top, she saw Hyunjin. His hands in his pockets and he was slightly jumping, so the cold wouldn't bite on his skin even more.
" Hey."
Mia slightly smiled, " Hi."
" I know I told you to never talk to me again, but obviously take that back now," Hyunjin awkwardly scratched the back of his neck with his left hand.
" Yeaah, it wasn't the nicest thing for you to say."
" Uhm, Mia?"
The girl raised her chin and looked up into Hyunjin's eyes, " Yes?"
" I wanted to say that I'm sorry for getting so mad at you-"
" You don't have to be sorry," Mia cut him off.
" I don't have to but I am sorry. I was just shocked and I felt betrayed, I talked to Sophia about this and she told me the same things you did... I'm sorry for lashing out and just leaving you."
" It's really okay, I deserved it."
Hyunjin slightly shook his head and smiled at the girl, " You didn't deserve that, no one should ever deserve that, well only evil people."
" And I'm an evil person."
" You're really not."
Mia sighed, " And that's where you're wrong. If I wasn't evil I wouldn't have dmed you like someone else when I already knew that you liked me and stuff."
" But you didn't mean it."
" I know, but that doesn't make me any less responsible. I toyed with your feelings and yet when you thought that you finally got rid of me... here I am, in front of you, not leaving you alone."
" Mia? Do you know why I wanted to talk to you today?"
Mia shook her head as her eyes were glued on her feet.
" I like you too."
Mia's eyes widened and she looked up, " What do you mean?"
" I, Hwan Hyunjin, like you. Wasn't that clear enough?"
" But I hurt you and -?"
" And what? Not like you meant to."
Hyunjin pulled Mia into a hug, it was definitely not the best hug both had ever experienced as the fabric of the thick winter jackets was in the way, but somehow it was also the best hug either of them had ever had.
It was as if the world around them just turned quiet, there was no one else, just them. The sound of people exiting and entering the store right by them was completely erased. All they could hear were their heartbeats. Mia heard how fastly her heart was pounding against her chest and so did Hyunjin.
Right when Mia was about to pull away Hyunjin pulled her closer and locked his lips with her. Mia felt embarrassed at how chapped her lips were compared to Hyunjin, whose lips were as soft as pillows.
Hyunjin didn't even mind the feeling of her chapped lips, he was happy. He was happy because he was kissing the girls he wanted to spend his life with. It was the girl he couldn't get rid of no matter how hard we tried. She was always there and so was he.
