Opening up her eyes on a brand new day, her first thoughts of the day immediately went to a certain southern cowboy who'd plagued her thoughts until sleep claimed her last night. Ralph had given her a lot to think about during their talk as he drove her home yesterday. The whole point in her moving here was to discover who she wanted to be, what she wanted to do in life and to do something completely outside of her comfort zone. Definitely a big fat check on that last one. Moving here was something from outside the outside of her comfort zone and so far, it wasn't as bad as she thought.Okay so she didn't exactly plan for what happened in the last couple of days, who would? She was thankful her and Ralph had decided to put things behind them and start a new leaf.
Ha! That makes two new leaves for me now.
She had yet to meet the other two of the five Jenkins brothers, which she was told earlier yesterday were the twins, Reed and Rowan. There wasn't a great hurry inside of her to meet them, as it would happen as and when, but if they're anything like twins are always written to be in the books she reads, they were bound to be a handful.
Putting all thoughts about anything Jenkins to the back of her mind, she thought instead about how she'd started the day for once. She was NOT a morning person. At all. Moving clear across the ocean wasn't going to change that, no matter how much she wanted this brand new start. Mornings were the one thing she knew she was always going to hate.
The view from her balcony had been beyond anything she could describe, it was just the most beautiful reinforcement that she'd made the right choice in moving here, the sunrises were spectacular. It almost made up for her grumpy mood when waking up first thing.
If only mornings started a little later in the day, they wouldn't be so bad.
Knowing that sad reality would never be, she flopped back onto her bed, which thankfully had been delivered along with all of her other belongings she'd shipped over here, in the late afternoon after Ralph had dropped her back home. She'd lounge here for a short while, at least until she was less of a grump. She'd started her day right after that, with a lovely cup of tea. A cup of tea always saw that things got off to a not so bad start.
Lounging around was only pleasant for as long as the novelty of it remained. Which in her case, didn't last long today. She'd caught a nap early yesterday evening after everything had been moved in, which thankfully for her combatted the slight feeling of jetlag which had snuck up on her. As a result when she went to bed that night, she was able to sleep through the night with minimal interruption. Now, she was awake and itching to get her 'lazy day' off to a start.
Setting to her new morning routine, she'd cleaned up in the bathroom before changing into her comfortable, baggy clothes for the day. Seeing as she wasn't expecting to see anyone today, it really didn't matter how she dressed. So, she dressed in her go-to round the house clothes. Putting her night clothes back on the freshly made bed to use again tonight, as she always made sure to wear clothes at least twice before washing them, she headed downstairs to make her first breakfast in her first home.
Happily munching on her breakfast, she could only think of one thing that she definitely wanted to get done today. Sort out her books of course! When she'd been looking at the house and when she'd been in talks with Joe, she'd only requested one part of the house to be completely built from new to fit her, once she'd for sure secured the place. A floor to ceiling bookshelf.
It was her dream to one day have a mini-library in a house she planned to own. However, seeing as this was a house being given to her for pretty much nothing at all, her request would do her for now until should a day come in the future when she would be able to expand to the mini library. She'd spotted the majestic built-in bookshelf when she'd fully explored the place yesterday, though she hadn't been motivated to fill it. Until now.
