Ralph always hated having to get up first thing in the morning, as it now meant that he had to leave the warm bed and the even warmer body inside the bed beside him. He'd come to love and be thankful for Robinne being there, but it made it twice as hard to fight the urge to stay in bed. Mostly, his sheer determination won out and he usually got out of bed. Today? He wasn't going to fight. He was going to happily give in and spend a few more minutes snuggling with his lady.
Only, he would. If she was in bed with him in the first place.
Reaching out to the other side of the bed, his hand came up empty. Coming across nothing but the same bedsheets and cover that adorned his own body.
Huh...where'd she go?
Sitting up, he stretched his arms and scratched at his chest. It took him a minute to come too from sleep to remember where Robinne said she'd be that day.
Oh yeah, she's at the bakery with Laney...
I hope they have leftovers, I could go for something sugary today.
He had his own full agenda today. What with winter knocking on their backdoor, there were things that needed to be done before it was too late. Though they were blessed in Texas not to have it as rough as other states during the winter, you never knew what could happen. You had to be prepared for any possibility.
After a quick shower and a shave, Ralph sat down on his side of the bed wrapped only in a towel secured around his waist. He picked up his phone from the nightstand and fired off a quick message to Robinne. As he probably wouldn't get to see her until late in the day, this would have to do for now.
Ralph: Hey Darlin'. Good morning. Don't push yourself too hard today, you'll need your strength for when I return the favour on sneakin' out on me this morning. See you tonight. Love you darlin', R x
Yes, he signs off his messages. Only to Robinne though, no one else. It just felt...special, giving it to only her in some way.
I've turned into such a sap.
A happy sap.
Robinne's sap.
Shortly after he'd sent his message, his phone buzzed in his hand. Robinne never went anywhere without her phone in case someone needed her, so it never took her long to reply unless she was busy.
Robinne: Morning Handsome! I won't push myself, I promise. You looked so peaceful sleeping, I couldn't bear to wake you. YOU work too hard. Saved you a muffin...or two ;) You're welcome. Can't wait to see you tonight, I love you too! <3 x
What more could a man ask for to start his way right, than the person he loves thinking about him and professing their love? Some might argue that there was a lot more. Ralph wasn't one of those men. The simple things far satisfied him more than overly kinky, dirty or sexual things ever would. Because if you ever took away those things or if they fizzled out someday, he'd still be blessed with the same worth of relationship he had with those things. Unlike how some people parted when the 'spark' fizzled out. He wouldn't be one of them.
Putting his phone back on the nightstand, he stood from the bed and finished getting himself ready for the rest of the day and whatever it brought him. Keen to work hard to pass the day until the time he could have the very air he breathed back in his arms.
Time simply couldn't move fast enough.
The day passed a lot slower than Ralph cared for, with constant hold-ups and being made to wait, it made the day crawl by at a much smaller rate. By the time the early afternoon crawled around, he felt as if he'd been working all day instead of until now.
