I turned back to Callum, shell-shocked. What had just happened? I turned to the door again and knocked on it angrily. In my entire life, I'd never had a door slammed in my face, and I did not appreciate it. At the very least she was going to apologize for being an ass. The door swung open suddenly and the woman had tears in her eyes.
"You may as well come in." She said, with an edge to her voice. I obliged, and Callum followed. I was slightly confused by her invitation. 'Oh, just let me slam the door in your face before letting you in'. Was she raised by cave people?
"As I said before," I began, my voice annoyed, "My name is Moira Blake. You're Siobhan, right?" I asked. She gave me a quick nod and guided me into her living room. She motioned for me to sit and I perched myself on the edge of the couch. "I was wondering if your father was Callum O'Brien?"
"Yes, he was." Callum, standing beside me, began to smile. "Why would you even care?" Siobhan asked. I looked over at Callum, unsure of how to go on. She'd probably throw me out like last weeks trash if I told her I'd been running around with her dad all day.
"Well, you see, something came up today." I said. "And well, I sort of wanted to talk to you about it."
"How did you even find me?" Siobhan asked sharply. I was thrown by her tone and paused a second.
"I Googled your name." I said, not sure what she was looking for here.
"They told me that you wouldn't find out, I should've known better." She said, her voice holding back tears. I stood up and waved my hands.
"No, no. I don't know who you think I am, or what you think I want, but I just need to tell you something." I said. She still looked on the verge of tears.
"I knew I should've moved." She said, more to herself than to me. "But this is my home, I just couldn't." I looked at Callum and gave him a 'what the hell?' expression. He just looked concerned for his daughter. This was not going like I wish it would.
"Look, your dad somehow astral projected to the future before he died and he's here right now." I burst out at the same time that she said:
"Every time I see you, all I see is him, and it breaks my heart." Those words stopped the rest of my tirade and I lost my ability to breathe for a second.
"What?" I said after the momentary silence. Siobhan looked up at me.
"What did you say about my dad?" She asked. Callum was looking back and forth between the two of us in confusion. He gave me a look urging me to tell Siobhan that he was there.
"Why would you say that I look like someone?" I asked, my mouth dry. "Do you know me?"
"I thought..." Siobhan's voice trailed off. "I thought that you knew." I felt my lips tremble and I clenched my jaw. I felt sick.
"You thought I knew what?" I asked. Her eyes grew somber and I felt my heart drop. This couldn't be happening.
"Moira, I'm sorry-" She began, but I was having none of it. I glared at her fiercely, my entire body shaking now.
"You don't get to say my name." I growled. "You don't even have the right to look at me." I turned away from her and bounded for the front door as tears welled up in my eyes.
"What did you say about my father?" She yelled after me, but I ignored her. I threw myself through the doorway and outside, thankful that the air was getting cooler. "Moira!" She shouted. I began to run down the street as fast as my legs would take me.
