"I'm hungry." Angel said holding her tummy.

Kim stood up and replied "Me too. As soon as we find any food or water you'll be the first to know."

Angel smiled brightly. The room they had rested in that night had not changed but had gotten colder.

Kim left the room with Angel on her heels. Lightly pushing her back Kim looked out the broken window.

It was a long drop down. At least 9 stories. But to Kim it seemed like 90 stories. She sucked in a deep breath and looked about.

Snow flustered down and the sky was a gentle gray. A tall fence with barbed wire stood around the building. 50 yards away from that stood a forest, life was not detected within.

We must be in the back, at least according to the story Angel told me Kim wondered. She didn't want to ask just yet though.

Backing up she looked at Angel who in return asked what she had seen. "Snow was falling, there's a forest far from here and we're a few stories up."

Angel had nothing to say after that. Gingerly, Kim took her had and walked to the last door in the hallway.

Peeking in Kim found that it was like the others rooms she had seen. Searching the desk, the two girls came in luck.

Happily Kim found a book bag with not too many holes and stored her belonging in there.

Angel found a small brush which she automatically asked Kim if she could brush her hair.

"Some other time okay? We need to be going."

And together they found a hand full of batteries. Kim was excited with all her new found luck.

Opening the door to the next corridor showed more doors, but they were oddly different from the last few rooms.

Theses ones looked as if people fought their way out of them and were frequently replaced.

Turning around to Angel, Kim seen she had put her skull mask back on and looked at the doors perturbingly. She stayed close to Kim.

One of the doors near the middle looked ajar, but Kim would not risk going in it when Angel was with her.

"You've been here a long time, right?"

"Yeah"

"Have any monsters come recently? Any from the past few days. . ?"

Angel looked up at Kim and shook her head no. Something ominous was going to happen soon she felt.

"We'll, I'm going in that room, and I don't want you to come. Are you alright with that?"

Angel sucked in a breath and said "I don't like the idea at all. Please don't leave me out here!"

She started griping at Kim. "It's okay it's okay," Kim said crouching down to hold the little girl.

"I need to, to find out if there is a way out."

"No, not without me." Angel cried.

Holding her as she pleaded Kim was thinking of something to tell her. She pulled away which in turn made Angel hold on tighter, so Kim whispered to her

"Linsey. Do you remember the various monsters that scared you?" Angel nodded.

"Well if I find one in there I don't want you to be in harms way again, so staying out here is safer at this moment. Do you understand?"

This time Angel pulled away to look at Kim. Her tears stained the green ribbon and made her look so fragile.

"But you would be in harms way then."

Kim's eyes were soft in a way of response but Angel knew nothing was going to change her mind. She took a long look at Kim.

Studying the way her pony tail fell sideways and how it was knotted and snarled, but still so pretty.

Angel studied Kim, seeing how much pain her bright eyes held, yet so much bliss and lovingly concern they also shared.

"I know the risks," Kim finally said. Angel nodded and retreated out of her arms.

Standing, Kim slowly approached the door. Angel hid behind the door way, but could see what's going on.

Looking through the little opening she had, Kim slowly brought her hand up. She looked back and saw Angel hiding behind the door, watching with fear.

Returning back to the door, with one finger, Kim pushed it open and stepped back.

Angel sucked in a breath as Kim let hers go. Nothing jumped out.

Nothing stirred inside.

The door was all the way open reveling what lay inside. There were no windows, but a hallway. The floor was trashed with lose papers and text books.

It looked as if a fight was held and brutally fought a few days or more ago. Pictures hung on the walls.

She didn't get too close, but examined them from afar. The walls had dried blood and dents in them.

In one of the pictures sat a man sitting tall, he was wearing a suit and looked very ostentatious. She took a step closer.

One picture showed a line of kids, they stood shoulder to shoulder. Taking another step Kim tried to see what was so odd about them. They were standing next to a wall, but something was just not right.

Anotherstep and she would be in the hallway. Angel slowly creeped around the other door way to see. Something was so off about that picture.

Then it clicked. They all looked so scared, as if death was taking their picture.

Some were crying, and there hands were tied to the ones next to them. A little girl to the far left was pleading with her eyes.

Kim took another step to see what the far right looked like, but just then the floor gave way.

Kim had not seen that only pieces of rotting wood and cardboard had kept the papers and books up.

With a scream she went crashing down two floors into a different room entirely.

Angel screamed her name and ran to the spot Kim was just at. Kim let out a groan and looked up through all the falling papers at poor Angel, two floors up, with no one around to keep her safe.
