What you just saw is something called a teaser. It's that short chapter (or chapters) in the back of a book that is supposed to present something enticing that will make you want to read the next one. Some people (like me) call it a literary dick move but that is neither here nor there.
One day I intend this to be a real book (or e-book depending on the availability of paper and current visual arts economy) so if you enjoy this kind of writing then remember get your rapidly inflating dollars ready sometime in the future. If you don't enjoy it or are otherwise opposed to paying full price for something an idiot wrote in his spare time, then that doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
