The car sped towards me and I jumped out of the way last minute with a shriek. I screamed a few vulgar words at the car and growled inwardly. The crossing lane was obviously on green. I hated New York drivers. After composing myself, I continued on my way to Click's. Click's was a new underground coffee shop that had just opened last week. I'd heard some pretty good buzz about it and decided to check it out. I found my way to it after a few wrong turns and swung open the door.

I was instantly greeted with the amazing smell of coffee beans and cream. I took a deep breath and found a good seat in the back, facing the stage. There was a man in an apron fiddling with a mic so I figured there would be live music pretty soon. I sat my bag down to save my seat and got in the fairly long line to order whatever the cashier recommended.

Once I had my coffee, Click's fresh brewed vanilla bean latte, I took my seat and waited for the band to come on stage. I took a few sips of my amazingly delicious latte and was about to take out a sketchpad when a boy settled himself behind the mic, guitar in hand. My jaw dropped for a moment but I composed myself and slid down in my chair, determined to remain unnoticed.

Devon cleared his throat and tapped the mic, checking to see if it was on. He strummed a few notes n his guitar then looked up at the crowd with a smile.

"How's everybody doing?" He asked. The crowd erupted with responses and I smiled faintly to myself.

"I wrote this song for a girl I know. She hates me but hey, maybe she'll come around," He laughed, his voice sounding a little sad. I frowned and sat up in my chair.

"This song is for a girl named Natalia. Where ever she may be," He smiled solemnly. Devon began strumming his guitar, his eyes trained on the ground and a faint smile playing on his lips. He opened his mouth to sing but the voice that came out wasn't his. It was like and angel was singing, using Devon as it's instrument.

"Oh. My. Goodness," I whispered to myself.

Devon's beautiful voice flooded through the entire coffee shop and everyone was silent, listening. Even the cashier had stopped taking orders and had her head turned toward Devon. He sang about the most beautiful things. The part I didn't understand though? He was singing about me. He had said it already but I couldn't believe it. I didn't see how anything he sang about was related to me. But it was beautiful all the same and I was mesmerized.

Devon finished the song and bowed as the crowd screamed and cheered. Then I did the unthinkable. I have no idea what came over me. I rushed through the crowd, bobbing an waving in between clapping people. I made my way the the front of the stage and climbed up, earning a completely shocked look from Devon. A smiled faintly and he grinned at me. I ran into his arms and as we embraced,  the cheering from the crowd grew louder.

"Thank you," I shouted above the crowd.

"No need to thank me, Nat. I meant every word," He yelled with a smile.

"How in the world can you sing like that?" I asked.

"I don't know," He smiled bashfully, "I just do."

I smiled at him then looked out at the crowd, who were still cheering an whistling. I suddenly felt very vulnerable and all I wanted to do was be invisible again. But everyone was staring at me; It was too late. I stood on my toes and mutter a quick 'I need to hide' into Devon's ear before turning to bolt off the stage. In the process, I tripped over the microphone cord. So smooth, I know.

Devon caught me and grinned, causing me to laugh.

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" The crowd chanted.

"No way," ! stammered, trying to wiggle my way out of Devon's arms and onto my feet.

"Oh come on, we can't disappoint them," He grinned.

"Yes we can and yes we will," I snorted.

"Oh just shut up already," He groaned, a smile spreading across his face. He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine and the whole shop went silent. I don't know if they were actually quiet or if I just tuned them out but all that was real to me at the moment was Devon. We broke apart and the shop erupted with more whistles and a chorus of 'awwwwww's.

"Now that wasn't so bad, was it?" Devon grinned.

"No," I smiled. "It was worse."

"I'm offended," He smirked.

"Good. Now please let me off this stage before I have a panic attack," I said quietly, scanning the crowd.

"You really hate people, don't you?" He laughed.

"Very much so," I smiled anxiously. Devon took my hand and lead me off the stage and through a back entrance into an ally.

"Better?" He asked.

"Much better," I sighed.

"So, does this mean we're okay again?" He asked after a few moments.

"Absolutely not. I kissed you and now I'm going to disappear," I snorted.

"Technically, I kissed you," Devon smirked.

"Details, details," I smiled with a wave of my hand.

"Like it matters. I got to kiss you. That's what matters to me," He grinned.

"Well hold on to that feeling because it'll never happen again," I glared.

"I wouldn't be so sure," He smirked.

"Too bad. I'm very sure," I pointed.

"Always so negative," He groaned.

"Why thanks," I smiled sweetly.

"Need a ride home?" Devon asked.

"Nah, I can walk," I said, waving a hand towards the street.

"Well tough. I'm driving you home," He smirked.

"Well fine then Mr. Demanding," I snorted.

"Huh. I don't remember telling you that that was my middle name," He laughed.

"You didn't. I'm just magical," I grinned.

"Indeed you are," Devon smiled.
