It was so peaceful here in the ocean. I promised myself that I'd never leave. After that horrible day that I realized what I was, I had to hide myself from the world.
I'm a shapeshifter. That's what I am. I'm generally in the form of an underwater creature, but I'm not in the mood. Today is the day that I've officially been in here for a year. I was pushed in the water by a girl, who had black hair and blue eyes. At least what I can remember.
The last thing she screamed was: "MONSTER!" And I was gone. She saw me shape- shift, and she was horrified. She thought I would drown, so I faked it. I never returned to the surface again.
My thoughts were interrupted my a blood curtailing scream. Then a splash. I could feel a struggle coming from my right. I swam over and saw a foot tangled in the weeds. I looked up and I gasped.
The girl was breathtaking. Her luscious hair was floating beautifully in the water, and her ocean eyes were bright with fear. I realized I was in my boy form too late. She looked at me and screamed. Her scream was muffled by the water, so it wasn't that bad.
She was squirming everywhere. I realized she was drowning. She was pulling at her leg and scratching. I yanked at the weeds and ripped them out of the ground. With them still attached to her foot, I grabbed her waist and pulled her to the surface.
She was even more pretty than I thought. But she looked terribly familiar. She caught her breath when she saw me; her eyes wild. Slowly they closed and she tipped over. I caught her and picked her up.
I knocked on the huge mansion that stood close. An older woman answered the door. She gasped when she saw the unconscious girl in my arms.
"My Blaire! Oh dear God no!" She said. Then she looked at me with affection.
"Thank you for saving my granddaughter, young man. What's your name?" She thanked.
"Feign," I replied. She smiled.
"Come inside," she invited. I stepped inside and gasped. The ceiling was the first thing I noticed. It was so high, I couldn't see everything. It'd been so long since I'd been in a house. It was a really nice house, too.
She motioned me to follow her, so I did. She led me up three flights of stairs, and into a hallway. There was a HUGE room at the end, with at least four suitcases. That we're rose gold, so I assumed that this was the girl's room.
"You can set her on her bed," she told me. She pulled back the covers and patted the mattress. I laid her down gently. Her black hair was wet and in her face. I pulled it back lightly away from her eyes. I could feel the older woman looking at me, but I didn't care.
I put my hand on her forehead, and it was ice cold. Her stomach was rising and falling too slow.
"Ma'am, she swallowed too much water," I said, not taking my eyes off of the beautiful- what was her name again?- Blaire. I could hear the woman rushing away, probably to call a doctor or something.
Blaire was so pretty. I put my hand on her cheek and kept it there. Her eyelids fluttered. I jumped. Slowly, her eyes opened and her ocean blue eyes were pale.
