It was midnight on a Saturday night. The stars above me were covered by a thin layer of dark cloud.

Thunder struck in the distance.

I was at a bus stop, the reason I was being out so late being that I needed to have a conference with my record dealer, this being the only time I was free.

I stood underneath the roof of the bus stop shakily with my umbrella in hand. I hated thunder. Or rain, in any matter. It made me feel wet, sad, and soggy. Not a good mixture.

I was dressed in a dark cyan trenchcoat, black rainboots, and a black beanie. Nothing special. Just to keep me warm. My umbrella, on the other hand, stood out quite a bit. It was black and white, and had tiny little bear ears on the top. It resembles a panda bear. Quite childish, but I loved it!

I checked my watch. Only 12:13.....The bus is supposed to be here by 12:25. All I could do is wait. Cars drove by on the street, only illuminated with the streetlights and the headlights of speeding automobiles.

I reached into my pocket, scruminging for my phone. I needed something to do, at leas-

"O-Oh my goodness, Im so sorryy-"

A young woman, about my age, had crashed into me, causing me to fall down onto the ground. I let out a wince of pain, rubbing my butt. I looked up and grumbled.

"Hey!! Whats the big ide-??"

I looked up and froze. The woman was an inkling with long black tentacles, pink on the ends, all tied up in a bow. Her eyes were golden, and her body....oh boy. She wore boots, a parka, and a hood, though she looked amazing.

I couldnt speak. I didnt know what was wrong with me.

The woman hoisted me to my feet and gave a nervous giggle.

"Hey, sorry about that.....I wasnt looking where I was going and-"

"I-its fine..."

I finally managed to squeak out, blush slowly creeping onto my face. Her face brightened up, and she gave a beaming smile.

"Oh! Thank you! Im Callie, by the way!"

She held out her hand. I took it and gave a gentle shake. I mumbled out.

"Marina......"

"Well, nice to meet you, Marina!"

Droplets of rain began to fall from the sky, crashing against my umbrella. I groaned gently, but Callie was shivering. She was getting soaked, I couldnt just let this happen! I reached out my umbrella, returning her bright smile.

"Here, uh......take it. you need it more then me!"

Callie looked at her in a confused manner, but took the umbrella anyway.

A bus pulled up to the stop, not mine, and Callie rushed on.

As the door closed, she mouthed me a "thank you" before the bus drove off and she was lost from sight.

The rain poured down, reflecting against the street light. I smiled like a dork, sighing happily.

Maybe.

Just maybe.

With her around,

I can learn to like the rain.

But not today. Thunder struck and I fucking screamed.
