I didn't expect this!

Chapter 14

Katy's POV

"Hello Katy." I hear a deep voice on the other line. The voice sounds very familiar, yet I can't seem to remember where I heard it.

"Whose this?"
"You don't remember me? Ah well no worries; you will soon. Now how's your little friend doing? Still upset about the murder of her boyfriend? Well don't worry there'll be plenty more soon to get that one off her mind!"
"What are you talking about?!"
"Oh don't worry you're not next yet. You still have plenty of time! but be careful who you keep close to you, who knows they might disappear faster then you'd expected."
He abruptly hangs up after that, and I'm left shocked.

"Katy? you okay?" I hear someone say as I turn to face Harry.
"I think it's been a long night, you guys should go rest." I can't let him or any of the boys get into this. I've already lost so many people I can't lose more.
"Katy what's going on?" Niall and Tess say in unison.
"Don't worry everything's gonna be fine." I try to assure them.
"What are you talking about?" Niall says. I can't let them know anything . If they knew what was going on they'd never leave us. I have to keep them safe.
"Nothing. I'm just tired. And I believe we've been a victim of a horrible prank." I hate lying to them or anyone for that matter, but I had no choice.
"Are you sure?" I hear Harry say not taking his eyes off me for even a second. The worried look that he has on his face makes me want to crawl into a hole. I feel so guilty that I'm lying straight to their faces.
"Yes, of course. I'll call you tomorrow okay? Now go on." I say and as they both give me one last glance they walk out the door.

"Katy! I know when you're lying, you know that right." I hear Tess say from behind me.
"I couldn't get them worried about us. I can't drag them into all of this. You know how dangerous this is." 
"Yeah, I understand why you did what you did, but what are we supposed to do now?" She asks me.
"I wish i knew. He said he was going to hurt us. I can't put anyone else in danger. We have to leave." Suddenly I ran into my bedroom and started to pack. We had to go now. Before he hurts anyone else, before he hurts Harry. I just got to know him, I can't lose him like this.
"Katy! What are you doing? Stop!" Tess comes over and grabs the blouse from my hands, and before I can do anything she says, "This isn't what we're supposed to do! Aren't you tired of running away? You just met these guys and you're just gonna leave them like this. In your absence you don't know if they're gonna be safe or not. Look what happened to Finn..." Then she suddenly broke down.
"I'm so sorry Tess..." That's all I could get out at that moment before shedding a tear myself.
"It's okay...We'll figure it all out tomorrow, but for now lets just sleep. I'm just really tired. Please lets just sleep."
"Yeah, okay I'm tired too."

"Katy?" I heard someone calling as I felt a slight nudge on my right arm.
"Tess? What time is it?" 
"It's 6AM. I was hoping we could go for a jog together?"
"Oh sure, let me just get dressed."


"How'd you sleep?" I hope she she slept well. I couldn't help but toss and turn all night. I couldn't get that voice out of my mind. He sounded so familiar, yet there was just something about him. I couldn't put a finger on it.
"Well compared to the other days a bit better...Hey isn't that Harry over there?" I looked at the direction Tess had been staring at and saw a tall, curly headed boy talking to an old lady.
"Yeah. I should probably go talk to him. I wasn't thinking too clearly yesterday."
"Go on ahead. I think I see Niall at that donut shop to the left. I'll go catch up to him."

I started to jog towards Harry and as soon as i got there his gaze landed on me.
"Katy! How are you?" I saw a bit of concern hidden in his eyes. 
"I'm better. I was wondering if we could talk?" I had to tell him what was going on. I know we've only known each other for a short period of time, but we've grown quite close. I can't hide this from him any longer.
"Last night...the call that we got...we've gotten calls like those before." I saw his expression change from concern to confusion. "Me and Tess we've been threatened by this anonymous man multiple times. He's tried to harm us in many ways..."
"That's why you moved here." He interrupted taking in all the new information I'd provided him.
"Yes. I just wanted to run away from it all. It was all just too much for me. I couldn't handle being tortured by this insane man."
"Is that why you were so distant after the call?"
"I didn't want you to get involved. I couldn't let him hurt you too." I felt a pair of arms wrapped around me providing me with warmed on this cold morning. We remained in each others arms for a while. And if Niall and Tess hadn't interrupted us we'd be there for days.
"UH HM" I heard Niall clearing his throat. We slowed stepped back a bit but still remained close enough to feel each other's presence right by.
"I think I might know a guy who can help you out." Niall said and I saw Harry give a slight nod.
