2 days later (Friday)

Giovanni (Bricks)

"Mamas!" I yelled through the house, stepping off the elevator, not hearing anything.

I scratched my head, walking into the kitchen seeing Ari sitting at the island drinking wine.

"You ain't hear me calling you?" I asked and she looked up at me.

"I did." She said plainly.

"You good?" I asked and she nodded. "Yup."

"You sure?" I asked.

"I said i'm good yo, what's up?" She asked.

"You rolling with me to that meeting with Lydia?" I asked, referring to Jace's grandmother.

2 days ago I went to pick Jace up from her grandmother's crib and after 6 years I seen her mother there. Not only that, I also seen my brother who is her boyfriend, and i'm guessing her baby father of 4 other kids. Yesterday, Jace's grandmother Lydia called and asked to have a sit down. Of course I hesitated at first because I hate Jamie, but I would still like for Jace to have a relationship with her grandmother, so I agreed.

"You gonna go for real?." She asked.

"Yeah mamas." I said, nodding.

"Okay." She said plainly, walking pass me and into her bedroom, making me follow her.

"What's wrong?" I asked and she shook her head. "Nothing."

"You ain't good at hiding your emotions mamas, talk to me." I said , before she turned around.

"Wednesday night, you left a little after midnight. No call, no text, no "hey Ari i'm good." No nothing. Yesterday came and you didn't stop by or call at all either. Now you come strolling in here at noon 2 days later like everything is just okay?" She asked and I wiped a hand down my face.

"I wasn't cheating on you Ari." I said plainly, and she just stood there before shaking her head, walking into the closet.

"So that's it?" I asked as she ignored me. "Ari? That's it?" I repeated.

"Yes that's it Giovanni. I'm not going to argue with you about it. You don't see anything wrong with not calling or stopping by for 2 days in a row? neither do I." She said and I shook my head.

"I was at the trap handling business." I said and she just looked at me.

"Bricks drop it before you piss me off, seriously." She said and I threw my hands up in defense and walked off to Jace's bedroom to get her dressed.

"Daddddy!!!" Jace screamed, running over to me grabbing my leg.

"Wassup babygirl?" I said.

"Nothing. Where have you been? We missed you and we were worried especially mommy." She said and I dropped my head, realizing I had just fucked up.

I'm so used to women in my past not giving a fuck about me and only worrying about rather I was cheating or not , rather than if i'm okay and I just pissed Ari off for treating her like a bird.

"How do you know she was worried?" I asked.

"She told TT Justice" she said.

"Damn.. Cmon let's get you some clothes on." I said and she hopped up quickly.

"Where you going?" I asked.
