Layla:
I flopped down on the huge royal blue bedspread, completely exhausted, with the idea of sleep at the front of my mind, but yet my eyes were wide open staring at the intricate design on Matt's four poster King sized bed. My eyes followed the swirls and patterns painted in gold, reminding me a lot of what was going on inside my mind this very moment. Matt jumped down next to me, causing me to bounce slightly and turn to see him burying his head in a circle of his arms.
It takes no genius to figure out why we were so tired because after Sophia had left, Matt took me on a tour of the Palace. Not the whole of the Palace, that would take way too long, but he showed me the majority and explained the layout so I would have some sort of idea where I was if I ever got lost, which let's be honest would be very likely.
He explained the middle section of the Palace was shaped in a square with a cut out in the middle to allow room for a courtyard. The entry way was the front of the square with a huge library and several drawing rooms taking up the majority of the rest. There were two very large rooms attached to the front. The left was a ballroom looking like it came straight out of a fairy tale book and probably able to fit my Aunt and Uncles house inside it five times. It was so beautiful with it's glass floor and sparkling chandeliers that it made me want to start dancing then and there. But I didn't. That would be weird and I kinda wanted the people around the Palace thinking their saviour was half-way sane.
The room to the right of the entry way was the banquet hall, already set with three long tables. Most places would just convert the ballroom into a banquet hall but Matt explained that because the Queen loves her parties it was just a hassle every time. I should have guessed.
The square has two floors above, the first was where all the guest bedrooms were and the top floor where the serving quarters were. Attached to the first floor there is a corridor that leads to another part of the Palace. The corridor has been recently changed to now a glass tunnel. It is completely and utterly made of glass so you could see a lot of land and some amazing views, though If I was afraid of heights, I would have been terrified. There were two glass tunnels, one on either end of the first floor, both lead to two different buildings. Both of those buildings were circular in shape but were very tall so naturally had an Air Lift to get from top to bottom easily. The tower on the left held multiple drawing rooms, the throne room and state rooms. It was also where the King and Queen's chambers were and their personal living room and kitchen. The tower on the right had a gallery but other then that pretty much belonged to Matt. Well, it was Matt and Ethen's, but we all know what happened there.
The more modern features that had been added, mostly for Matt's benefit, were a games room much like the one at the lake house, a cinema, a training room, one for physical combat, the other for magical, and a gym. There was also a glass corridor between each tower. Both towers also had roof terraces that over looked the whole Kingdom.
The floors underground were the main kitchen area for the cooks to prepare meals and also rooms for the laundry and utility and other such rooms the staff needed. Also underground was where the Royal Family kept all their forms of transport. I had yet to see it but by transport I bet they even had a private train stored down there.
On the grounds surrounding the Palace were places for almost all different types of sport and also an outside swimming pool (the inside one being under the courtyard). And also another lake, though more wild then the one at the front.
All in all, the Palace had 821 rooms consisting of 24 state rooms, 60 guest bedrooms, 212 staff bedrooms, 52 offices and 83 bathrooms. Among other things.
Now you know why we were so exhausted.
I closed my eyes, but opened them again when Matt spoke, though I couldn't understand what with his head muffled on the mattress.
