I know, I know. I'm sorry if I've been gone for too long.
I had a hard time trying to make a good chapter.
I lost the burning passion to write.
Life is a downer sometimes.
Fear not, I took in all those negative things and turned them into positive ones.Here's my Valentine's gift to you pipos,
Chapter 7 *Because of Algebra
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Walked in the school hallways. Same sublime atmosphere, nothing new there. People were busy chatting by the lockers. Others laughing while others make fun of another. Typical high school. I was in the moods again where I didn't want to talk to anyone. I walked past everyone avoiding contact. I hate people sometimes.
I remembered that I have History next. Uh! I can't deal with history. I just hate that word. I went to my locker and exchanged my books for the next class. One last subject 'til lunch time. This day is going so slow.
"Hey grumpy! What's with you today?" Car spoke out of nowhere. "Jeez! Car! You gotta stop doing that." I put my hand my to chest to calm myself. Car put her hand up defensively. "I'm sorry it's just that... Forget about it." I said with a shrug. "Oh it's almost time. See you at lunch." She skedaddled as she waved good bye. I gave her a small nod.
"So class, how was your weekend?" Mr. Thompson asked us. My thought drifted back to what transpired yesterday. That placed a smile on my face, being with Chris that day. Why was I thinking about him like that anyway? It's not like I like him. "Ms. Montegomery!" I didn't realize Mr. Thompson and the whole class was looking at me, waiting for me to answer. "Uh pardon me sir?" I asked again. "I will repeat myself for the last time Ms. Montgomery, pay attention!" he shouted. Jeez! That man needs a break. "Now, as I was saying...." Mr. Thompson continued discussing. I gotta pay attention to what Mr. Thompson is saying. "We are going to have a quiz next meeting. Be sure to bring your books." Wow, was I zoning out that much? "See you on Wednesday class." He bid good bye.
Oh no! It's lunch time, I bet I'm going to see HIM. I gotta get my mind off that thought. I can't face him in this state. I rummaged through the girls bathroom to take a breather. I calmed my nerves. It's going to be okay Kirstie, you can do this. I headed to the cafeteria where I saw my friends sitting at our table. There I saw him laughing at Jayden's jokes. I slowly headed to the direction. "What took you so long?" R asked. "Nothing, I just got held up." I smiled at her. I took the seat across Chris, he looked at me and smiled. "Now where's that lunch that we talked about?" I said to him slowly. "Well, a deal is a deal Monty." He smirked. He got out two lunch packs. This wasn't my idea of the deal. "Two pineapple pork ready to serve!" He gestured to it. "Hey I want one of those!" Ken argued. Chris swatted away his hands. "Nuh-uh! This is for the lady." He gestured to me. "It's tough having to lose to a beginner, right." I mused. "Now. Now. Let's not get cocky or I'll take away this oh so delicious Pineapple Pork." He almost took away my beautiful lunch. "Uh-uh.. That's not going anywhere! If it's going somewhere it's into my belly." I took it from him. "Children! This is a place for eating, not fighting." Marc announced. R elbowed Marc. "Ow!" He cried. Ravena just smiled.
I took a bite on my meal and to my surprise, it tasted really good. "You're welcome." Chris smiled at me. I didn't realize that I was making weird faces while eating. "Sorry, it's really good! Who made it?" I needed to ask him, I wanted more. Chris just smiled at me. "Wait, you didn't put poison on this, did you?" I inquired. "I'm not a psychopath Monty." He said. "Just being pre cautious, you never know, right?" I said. "Ha! Ha! Very funny." I continued enjoying my meal. "Now tell me who made it!" I pleaded. Every bite was a taste of heaven. He just kept on grinning. What's up with him?
I rummaged through my notes in Algebra. I murmured and murmured softly trying to study for a test due tomorrow. I'm so bad at Math, math doesn't love me at all. "Watcha got there?" Chris swiftly got my notebook from my clutch. "Nothing that concerns you." I said in a monotone. "Hmmm Algebra... I can help you with that." He said confidently. "No thank you, Mr. Know-it-all." I hissed back at him. Suddenly Riley was inches away from us. "Uh... I mean, I would love your help." I said accompanied with a wink to Chris. He knew that Riley was coming. "Now, that's my girl." My friends heard it and were giving us puzzled looks, exchanging their stares from Chris to me then vice versa. I quickly made an excuse. "I'm nobody's girl." With another wink. Chris knew that Riley was gone. Then I looked at my friends then they didn't seem bothered again. That was a close one.
