I look up and see a dark blue night sky with twinkling little stars. It looks fake. I see Bethany and she looks different. We hear a clock going off in the distance. "It's happening. It's 12 o'clock. She should come right past us. We're on the passage to her house." I stare at her. What is she on about? "Who?" She looks at me like it's obvious. "Cinderella, of course! It's midnight. She's probably lost her glass slipper by now" She looks up. "Quickly! Get behind this bush. I can see her running up the path." She grabs my arm and we hide behind the bush, just in time to see a blonde haired girl run past us. With two shoes instead of only one. This can't be real. I slap myself and I can still see her running away from the palace. Then Bethany does something drastic. She starts to run, but in the wrong direction. She's going through the woods. "What are you doing?" I hiss at her. She ignores me and continues her run. I catch up to her. She only stops when she sees a fairy floating above her. The face on the fairy looks very familiar. As it comes down, it grows in size. I know at once who it is. "Miss Martineau! What the hell are you doing here?" She and Bethany both burst into laughter. When they stop, Miss Martineau explains everything. "I am the Fairy Queen." Even Bethany looks shocked. Until of course, she starts curtseying to her. She explains why Bethany has the key and tells us the way out of this crazy world. We have to fix the stories. "Each story is missing something. Take this one for instance." Cinderella has both shoes on. The prince can't marry her and give her a happily ever after without it. I know what I have to do. "Come on!" I drag Bethany, leaving the fairy version of Miss Martineau. "We need to steal one of Cinderella's shoes and give it to the prince!" She nods at me and we head off in the direction of the house.
