We arrive in a lair of some sort. Potions of all kinds lay strewn all over the place. A bubbling cauldron starts to overfill and a fair woman comes cackling down. "It's the Evil Queen. This must be the part where she makes the poison to give to Snow White." It scares me sometimes how much she knows about Disney. The woman drops a blood red apple into the cauldron. She adds other ingredients to the mix before pulling it out. She cackles to herself and smiles. "Now I'll be the fairest of them all, the way it should be!" The apple is placed in her basket, along with others identical to it. Bethany's face looks so serious and she runs to the forest. "Where do you think you're going?" I pull her back. "To the dwarf's cottage of course!" She carries on running until she stops at a little house with smoke puffing out of the chimney. Bethany takes hold of me and yanks me behind some bushes.
We wait for what feels like hours. I don't know what I have to do in this story, I just want Bethany to stop freaking me out with her weird ways. She draws in her breath as an old woman comes up to the cottage, waving a basket of. Blood. Red. Apples. I get it now, this is when the Evil Queen poisons Snow White. Bethany starts creeping out of our hiding spot and moves towards a thick oak tree. The woman's croaking voice was loud and clear. "Anybody want some nice, fresh apples?" She sounded like when you drag your nail across a blackboard. Her bony hand reaches for one of the apples. I hear my friend gasp and come back to me. "Ellie, she's got the wrong apple! Look at the basket!" She is right, one apple has faint green smoke coming off it, indicating the poison. Bethany dashes from me and walks up to the old hag. "Please miss, give me one apple for my sick mother." I'm shocked at how timid my best friend looks. The queen hands her the poisoned one unintentionally. She winks at me and runs away. She comes back to me and tells me to give her a signal when the queen leaves. She somehow knows what was about to happen. I trust her completely.
The queen leaves and I whistle to Beth. She suddenly leaves her hiding spot and flies straight to the window, holding out the apple that she got of the old hag and knocks on the window. She bends her head down as Snow White opens it. Bethany holds the apple out to her. "Please take my apple as I gift. I no longer need this and I'd love for you to have it." Snow White more than happily accepts her gift and sinks her teeth into it. Beth creeps away back to me and tells me to run for it. We make it to the edge of the forest before another portal appears. I grin at my best friend as we leap through it together.
