(Y/n)'s POV:

BEEP BEEP BEEP! I groaned at the sudden blaring noise that interrupted one of the first pleasant dreams I'd had in weeks. To my dismay, it showed no signs of stopping. I woke up, my tired brain slowly realizing why the blaring sound continued to play. I had school. And I couldn't exactly get there by flying, so I had to rush to find an outfit that wouldn't make me look like a dork and a pair of reflective sunglasses of my own design to hide my eyes. Some gloves did the trick to keep my bodysuit out of sight, and I'd made sure that Tony had told the school I needed them, so I was safe in that respect. Miraculously, I made it to the school office without any incidents and the principal was just saying how he'd gotten a student to show me around when a kid who looked about my age burst through the doors of the office breathlessly.

"I'm so sorry I'm late! I saw Spiderman on the way here and he kind of distracted me..." the boy said excitedly as I stood there, looking confused.

"Peter, this is (Y/n) (L/n)." the principal said with a strained smile. "She is new, and you were supposed to show her around." the 'Peter' kid went red. He wasn't bad looking, with short brown hair and hazel eyes. I guessed him to be close to 5' 10" and just over 160 pounds. Peter extended his hand while stuttering his way through a simple hello.

"It is an absolute pleasure to meet you, Peter. I do hope that it shall be no trouble to guide me." internally I, the teen hero, flinched at my own words. "Sorry, I mean that it's good to meet you and that I hope I'll be no problem. I'm kind of not used to like any social interaction." Peter laughed slightly.

"I-i'm kind of awkward, so... I won't judge..." the boy was cute, that's for sure. I held out my own hand, but instead of shaking it Peter stared at where my sleeve came up slightly. Instants too late, I remembered my extremely suspicious black gloves, under my clothes as usual. I might've swore and tugged my sleeve down, my one chance at a normal life gone just like that. "U-uh... a-are you wearing...?"

"They're gloves. I mean, obviously. I wear them all the time."

"I'm sorry... I-i didn't mean... Oh god what is wrong with me right now. You are making me way more nervous than a hot girl-" he cut off, his eyes widening. "I didn't...!" I laughed, and he kind of chuckled nervously.

"Peter, I can tell we're gonna be good friends. Fun fact: you are the first guy I've ever been friends with, other than Jag-" I stopped, the memory of my lost brother serving too painful to handle delicately.

"Jag?" the question hung in the air for some time, long enough for him to start to say not to worry about it, before I finally responded.

"My brother. He-he's gone..." I let a single tear slide down my face before composing myself. "A-anyway... I thought you were supposed to show me around." Peter nodded and showed me to my class, as we'd missed the entirety of first hour. I didn't notice the odd look in his eyes as he said goodbye at the end of the day.
