Next day
*At the hospital*

The nurse that was assigned to Don came in that day as usual. She had a number of patients and she went on her usual rounds for a few minutes before she went to Don's room only to find it empty. She was somehow shocked and thought that Don had passed away during the night but was confused as to why she was not updated before hand. The hospital had a systematic way of doing things and if a patient had passed away the nurse on duty(night/day)  would be informed before the body was moved from the room. She went to the reception desk to find out what was going on.

"Hey Chelsea, what happened to my patient in room 39?" she inquired from her colleague. Chelsea checked her computer but there was no sign out from the hospital nor was there any transfers or a death report.

"Sorry Tina i don't know what happened. She is supposed to be there. Let me talk to the administration."

After the call to the administration, an investigation was carried out and the video footage of a man taking Don from her room was seen although he had his head down and that was not much help since his face could not be seen. The case later turned to a police case. The hospital let the police inform the family about the incident.

The head of investigations, Sherlock O'Brian called the family.

* Don's home*
It was early in the morning and the kids were preparing for school while the parents prepared for work. The phone rang and Mrs Knight went to answer the phone.

"Hello is this the Knights residence?" asked Sherlock.

"Yes it is. Who am i speaking to please?" asked Mrs

"This is detective Sherlock O'Brian i am in St Angels hospital and we need to speak to you urgently please come to the hospital."

"Why? Whats going on?" asked Mrs Knight in a panicked state.

"This is confidential and cant be discussed through the phone"

"Okay i am coming" she hang up and looked at her husband and children who was looking at her wondering what was happening.

"Something's wrong at the hospital. The police called we have to go." she said looking at her family.

They forgot all about work and school and headed to the hospital.

*at the hospital*

The knights arrived at the hospital and found detective Sherlock waiting for them at the entrance of the hospital.

"Whats happening?" Mr Knight asked the detective.

"It appears that Miss Donatella was kidnapped yesterday night by an unknown man. Do u know anybody who would like to harm her?" Sherlock inquired

"Look Donatella is a good girl. She may get into trouble here and there like a normal teenager but i don't think she is capable of getting herself into that kind of trouble. Are you sure this is not a prank? She may have done this to gain attention." Mrs Knight said. Her last statement shocked Sherlock. The girls condition was so bad that the doctors said she would never wake up from her coma and the tone her mother used was hard. This raised a lot of questions and Sherlock being used to handling many domestic cases, suspected something was going on in the Knights household.

"The girl was on her deathbed there is no way she planned this. I will have to investigate everyone who has been in contact to her. I hope you will cooperate fully and i expect nothing but the truth. Something does not add up." Sherlock was not one to beat about the bush and he wanted them to know that he meant business.

" Have a nice day. I will come over to start the investigations after i finish interrogating the hospital staff."

"John what are we going to do? We cant let them know the truth about how we treated her it will ruin us. Nobody will want anything to do with us." Mrs Knight said she could not keep her cool and had already started sweating and looked as if she would pass out.

"We can't keep this a secret anymore we brought this upon ourselves we cant blame anyone else but ourselves. If we try covering it up it may makes things worse and we may end up in jail. I really don't care about our reputation, right now all i want is my daughter to be found. I cant believe i treated my daughter like an outsider i am the worst human on earth. We have to do this for her because we don't know if we will ever see her again. I don't know about you, but i want my daughter back. I want to treat her the way i should have all this years. I want to make it up to her. I want to be able to see her smile at least once in her life. Now that i think about it, she has never smiled in her life, she has never been happy." Mr Knight said and he broke down in tears.

Dave, Vicky and Mrs Knight stood there shocked at his confession and somehow that tagged in their hard hearts and somehow melted them a little bit. Now it was evident all regretted how they treated her. Her being on a hospital bed close to death did not make them feel any remorse but losing her in this unexpected manner and knowing that there was a possibility she may not come back or if she did she would be in a body bag did wonders to their cold hearts.

Dave finally confessed that he was partially to blame for Dons accident and John being a lawyer knew that this would be bad for them. He knew they would be the first suspects and nobody would go easy on them. The truth was bad but if they lied it would make the situation worse. They all knew they brought this upon themselves.

meanwhile Sherlock had talked to all the staff members that were in hospital during the duration the Miss Donatella went missing but somehow nobody saw the face of the kidnapper nor did anyone else give any useful information. There was the footage that showed the man entering a SUV but they were not able to find the number plates in the system, it seemed they were fake and the people who did the kidnapping were very careful and professionals. The police had linked Donatella's disappearance to a number of other cases that had seen patients disappear from hospitals for the last 10 years and were never heard of again but they were not sure if that was the case. this turned the case  to be a first priority and the CIA became involved with the case. due to Sherlocks admired excellence in solving such complicated cases he was also allowed to help out with the investigations. The police suspected that this was the work of organ traffickers, or drug dealers who used corpses to transport drugs but they were not too sure.

Any other clue would only be given to them through interrogating her family and friends. Somehow the media had gotten wind of the kidnapping and like the vultures they were always waiting for disaster to get juicy gossip, they were everywhere trying to get a story here and there. This made work harder for the police.

Sherlock was now ready for answers from the Knights he just hoped it would help.
